A fantastic debut from The Turtles – and the kind of rock-solid set that shows that the group had so much more to offer than just a few hits that got overplayed on oldies radio! There's a wonderful blend here of folk currents and garage jangle – almost like The Byrds right around the same time – with elements that vaguely hint at trippier territory, but always focus back strongly on the more tuneful side of the music!
