Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Two souped-up electro groovers from Bernard Wright – produced by Marcus Miller & Lenny White, with more than enough breaks and pops to make a factory of linoleum groover! "Yo Nard" is probably the best – as it's over the top electro with a poppy edge. 12-inch, Vinyl record
A pretty great number from Bernard Wright – much smoother and more R&B than some of his work on GRP/Arista, but a great track with a wonderful 80s groove hook! The vocals are surprisingly nice, augmented by a female singer on the chorus – and the tune's still got some nice jazzy ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Stephanie Mills gets some wonderful help from the team of Mtume and Reggie Lucas on this one – stepping up in a warm, full groove that really sends the track over the top – and which sounds great here in an extended 8 minute version! 12-inch, Vinyl record
A great bit of pop acid house from the UK heyday of the late 80s – a clear follow-up in spirit to hits like "Pump Up The Volume" and "Bomb The Bass", with a similar blend of brazen beats, blasts of sound, and stark samples that come in and out of the mix. A bit more poppy ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Great stuff from the Heavies – issued here on a US 12" single, with a huge bunch of extra mixes designed to get the cut on the dancefloor. If all the cuts on that second album were as good as this one, the group would still be in business today! 12-inch, Vinyl record
