Kingsmen In Person – Featuring Louie Louie

LP (Item 577488) Wand, Mid 60s — Condition: Very Good

(Original pressing. Cover has a partially split bottom seam.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Hall & Oates

H2O
RCA, 1982. Near Mint-
One that we heard way too much when it was out, but which we kind of love now! The album's part of H&O's great comeback years in the early 80s – a time when they were mixing their white boy soul with some nice 80s groove and electro touches, often going for a spare mix of groove and ... Steve Miller Band

Fly Like An Eagle
Capitol, 1976. Near Mint-
A masterpiece from the legendary SF rocker Steve Miller – and a perfect summation of the years of blues, soul, funk, and rock he'd been soaking up in the Bay Area scene – served up here with an edge that's still very firmly in place! Miller was already plenty great before this set, but ... LP, Vinyl record album

Velvet Underground

Loaded
Cotillion, 1970. Near Mint-
The end of the road for the Velvet Underground – but a set that's also one of the group's best-remembered albums too! The record marked a big shift for the group – a move to Atco from Verve, continuing to work without John Cale – and the sound is possibly more rockish and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Thin Lizzy

Jailbreak
Mercury, 1976. Very Good+
Thin Lizzy's 70s rock masterpiece! Sure it's the mainstream radio fare of the period, but this is one of those albums that put the classic in classic rock! The definitive Gorham-Robertson twin guitar attack keeps this set rocking nicely and Lynott's in prime form with a batch of extra classy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Laura Nyro

New York Tendaberry
Columbia, 1969. Very Good+
Laura Nyro's second album in her legendary early run for Columbia Records – and an effort that's a bit more dramatic than the first! Laura's handling all arrangements herself this time, and they're conducted by Jimmy Haskell – but the overall sound is almost as spare as if Nyro were ... LP, Vinyl record album

Beatles

Let It Be
Apple, 1970. Sealed Gatefold
A bittersweet farewell from The Beatles – a record that definitely shows the fracturing unity of the group, with lots of near-solo moments – but a set that also makes us really wonder what they'd have done with all this genius, had they managed to hold it together! There's great hints ... LP, Vinyl record album

Kinks

Low Budget
Arista, 1979. Very Good+
A real standout in the later catalog of the Kinks – a record that gave the group a number of minor hits, and which let them rock out a bit more than usual – in a style that was clearly influenced by the punk of the period, but which also had sort of a Pete Townsend-esque quality to it. ... Charles Earland

Infant Eyes
Muse, 1979. Very Good+
An overlooked Hammond slammer from Charles Earland – cut at a time when he was working on more electric keyboards for other labels. The set's a killer all the way through – very much in the best early 70s Prestige Records mode – with long tracks that really jam, and a lineup that ... LP, Vinyl record album
