Although Martin Denny had the big hit with "Quiet Village", the tune was written by Les Baxter – a fact that's stated clearly on the cover of this one, which says "Les Baxter's Original Quiet Village"! The album's a nice collection of some of Baxter's best exotica work for Capitol – including a few titles from some of the more hard to find albums in his catalog.
