Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow

LP (Item 562289) Polydor, 1975 — Condition: Very Good+
(German Polydor pressing in a non-gatefold glossy cover – 2929 096. Cover has some edge wear, clear tape holding the top seam, and some large stains at the spine.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Atlanta Rhythm Section

Champagne Jam
Polydor, 1978. Very Good+
A 70s classic from Atlanta Rhythm Section – a group with roots in southern rock, but one who also really picked up a great sort of AOR-styled sound, too – one that's often got this record showing up in as many soul collections as rock! The groove is often nice and laidback – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Albion Doo Wah
Polydor, 1970. Near Mint- Gatefold
A really compelling second set from Cat Mother & The All Night Newsboys – and quite different than the first! On their Polydor debut, the group had Jimi Hendrix at the production helm – but this time they're taking things on their own, with a feel that's nicely loose and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Shawn Phillips

Rumplestiltskin's Resolve
A&M, 1976. Near Mint-
A wonderful bit of funky folksy rock – one that has Shawn Phillips working with members of The Headhunters, including Paul Jackson, Bill Summers, and Mike Clark.
