Strictly Personal

LP (Item 558832) Blue Thumb, 1968 — Condition: Very Good
Gatefold
(Black label pressing with deep groove. Cover has some ring & surface wear.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Captain Beefheart

Spotlight Kid
Reprise, 1972. Very Good+
An early 70s gem from Captain Beefheart – not as wild-eyed and whacked out as the late 60s glories – but still a good stretch weirder than most of the post psych, blues-steeped rock of the time! Dave Mason's first solo album – and a pretty a great one! Alone Together wasn't a huge hit back in the day, but man is a ever a pleasing set. Paul Brett

Interlife
RCA, 1978. Near Mint-
Electric jazz meets funky rock – in a set of tunes that takes kind of a Tubular Bells approach to the groove! Brett plays all guitars on the set, and the rest of the instrumentation includes drums, bass, keyboards, and a bit of horns. Side one features the long cut "Interlife", ... LP, Vinyl record album

Marianne Faithfull

Rich Kid Blues
Castle (UK), 1971/1978. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
A real breakthrough moment for Marianne Faithfull – a singer who'd already been doing some incredible music in the 60s, but who moves here into deeper territory that makes her way more than just a female British singer with a bit of an edge – and really opens up that talent that would ... London, 1967. Very Good Gatefold
A record that was initially thought by some as a cheap cash-in on the Sgt Peppers concept – but an album that, to us, really helped set The Rolling Stones free to express themselves in so many new and amazing ways!
