A gospel session, as you might guess from the title – and one that not only shows Della's roots in church music, but which also hints at the spiritual role she'd play in later life! The setting here is somewhat spare and stripped down – mostly just piano and organ in the instrumentation, and support from a vocal chorus who are smart enough to stay back and let Della take the lead.
