Call On Me (Bluesway pressing)

LP (Item 409188) Duke/Bluesway, 1963/1973 — Condition: Very Good+

One of Bobby Blue Bland's best albums ever – a stunning mix of blues and soul that's the kind of killer stuff that will make you a fan of his forever! There's no beating Bland at this point in his career – and the record is one of the finest illustrations of the power he brought to his work, subtly balancing a sense of class with rootsier down-hominess that few other singers could ever handle so well. That blend allowed Bobby to reach out to way more audiences than most of his contemporaries – and it's still equally powerful today – and the album's arrangements by Joe Scott are impeccable, with a slight touch of jazz that we totally love. The album includes classics like "That's The Way Love Is", "Call On Me", "Cry Lover Cry", "Care For Me", "Bobby's Blues", and "Honky Tonk". This is the 70s version of the original album – and features a different cover than the original.  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a cutout hole and some wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
