❔

What a cut! This was the only truly great one that Family Stand ever cut – and coming out in 1990, it was as direct a rip of the Soul II Soul style as you could ever have – but it was also sort of a return of righteousness to the soul charts, and since Jazzie B remixed it for this single, you know he probably wasn't too mad about the stylistic rip!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has light wear.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Ahhhhhhhhhh . . . Freak Out! What can we say? The cut's a monster – silly to be sure, but still with a choppy dancefloor groove that gets 'em every time! Nile Rogers, if you'd only stuck to guitar riffing like this, you'd have become President! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Great stuff – as "Weekend" is an extremely catchy groover! A bit disco, a bit funk, and with some stellar work by Patrick Adams. The cut was written by Adams' old collaborator from Black Ivory days, Leroy Burgess – and it's got a hook that just won't quit. This version's a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Both the Puff Daddy & Ali Shaheed Muhamed mixes of this Faith Evans track hit hard, Puff Daddy's in the mid '90's hot radio style that blew him up so large and Muhamed's with that smooth Tribe vibe. 12-inch, Vinyl record
