The never-issued follow-up to Jim Ford's classic Capitol album Harlan County – the kind of set that could have made him another Kris Kristofferson, or at least a Billy Joe Shaver – had the record company thought to release this gem at the time! The music is very different than standard Capitol country of the time – much more LA indie underground, with a strong singer-songwriter spirit – yet a record that's also decidedly country through and through, both in the themes of the songs and Jim's presentation of the lyrics – which are wonderful, and backed by a nicely subtle blend of steel and acoustic guitar.
