Ai Ga Nakucha Ne

LP (Item 168422) Midi (Japan), 1986 — Condition: Near Mint-
Originally: 59.99
A really fantastic album from the great Akiko Yano – a set recorded in London with help from a whole host of great talents, all of whom make for a record that's even catchier and groovier than some of her work in Japan! Ryuichi Sakamoto co-produced and arranged the record, and really helped give a lot of Akiko's songs a wonderful sense of structure – qualities that are expanded by work from Mick Karn on bass, Steve Jansen on drums, and Sakamoto on keyboards – working with Yano on a mix of English and Japanese-language tunes. Steve Nye also provides studio help, furthering some of the Brit pop elements – and David Sylvian also guests on one tune – the great "Good Night", done as a duet with Akiko. Other titles include "What's Got In Your Eyes", "Ai Ga Nakucha Ne", "Aisuru Hito Yo", "Sleep On My Baby", "Another Wedding Song", "Donnatokimo Donnatokimo Donnatokimo", and "Michi De Battari".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Heavy gatefold pressing, with separate sleeve for record, and very cool and big inner booklet! Cover has light wear, and booklet is loose in the middle – but overall this is a very nice copy.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Bronson's back on the streets in this sequel to Death Wish – but fortunately, he's got Jimmy Page there to back him up!
