Baile Latino

LP (Item 137606) Columbia (Brazil), Early 60s — Condition: Very Good-
A perky album of Latin dance tracks from Sylvio Mazzuca that Columbia issued in the early 60s. Tracks include "Agostina De Aragon", "Caramba", "Sinceridad", "Rumba Azul", "Cha Cha Cha De Luxo", "Too Much Tequila", "Ondas Do Danubio" and "Choro Sim".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has some surface wear, discoloration from age, and mostly split bottom seam, with a bit of pen and torn corners in back.)

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A really killer set from Joe Quijano – one of the most overlooked leaders of the early 60s, and a tremendous talent on these early Columbia albums! The album's got a raw, highly percussive groove – one that goes way past the simple pachanga groove of the time, and which bristles with a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Joe Quijano was one of the greatest all-around Latin bandleaders of the early 60s – and this rare session for Columbia shows him capably moving through a wide range of material, from mambo, to bossa, to cha cha cha!
