✨✧ Myra Barnes (Vicki Anderson)Super Good (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch
King, 1970. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
An excellent James Brown single, and a rare one too! Vicki Anderson, for some strange reason recording under the name Myra Barnes, gives her answer to James' "Super Bad". The track's nice and funky, with a good stretched out groove, and backing by the James Brown band. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ James BrownSex Machine ... LP
King, 1970. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
James Brown cooking it live – recorded (as the cover says) "at home in Augusta, Georgia with his bad self"! The groove here is a nice extension of earlier Apollo modes – one that shows the increasing funkiness of the James Brown Band, captured with a raw power that few other groups could match – in a style that really paves the way for the James Brown/JBs sound of the 70s – with long tracks, and some killer fast versions of some of the best funky cuts from the late King Records years! The set includes a smoking 10 minute version of "Sex Machine" –plus other groovers like "I Got the Feeling", "Mother Popcorn", "Licking Stick", and a great version of "I Don't Want Nobody to Give Me Nothing". LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label Starday-King pressing – a nice copy! Cover has some very light wear in the corners, but is quite nice too.)

✨✧ Roy BrownHard Luck Blues ... LP
King, Late 40s/Early 50s. Very Good+ ... $6.99
Fantastic R&B work from the great Roy Brown – one of the most hard-hitting vocalists in the early years of King Records! LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label Starday-King pressing.)

✨✧ JBsThese Are The JBs (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch
King, 1970. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
The single's a great lost pre-People single by The JBs – and it's sort of an introduction to the group, as James shouts "These Are The JBs" at the beginning, then the band launches into a nice sinister loping funky groove that's quite different from some of their later work. A real gem. 7-inch, Vinyl record
