✨✧ Richard & Linda ThompsonShoot Out The Lights ... LP
Hannibal, 1982. Near Mint- ... $24.99
One of the best-remembered Richard Thompson moments of the 80s – and a set that's also a bittersweet farewell to his years with Linda Thompson too! The album may well be the Rumors of the folk rock scene – but it's also got a quality that's more personal and pointed, too – songs that really show a lot of evolution in the style of not just the Thompsons, but also the production talents of Joe Boyd – who manages to make the music sound surprisingly biting for the time – really shaking off the trappings of early 70s British folk rock, but without losing any of its depth. Titles include "Don't Renege On Our Love", "Walking On A Wire", "Just The Motion", "Shoot Out The Lights", "Did She Jump Or Was She Pushed", and "Wall Of Death". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear and a small trace of a price sticker.)

Richard ThompsonRichard Thompson Live – More Or Less (I Want To See The Bright Lights/Live Material) ... LP
Island, 1976. Very Good+ 2LP ... $24.99
A great US 2LP set – one that goes back to present the debut Richard & Linda Thompson effort to the American market, then adds in live tracks too! LP 1 features I Want To See The Bright Lights – the first and greatest album together from Richard & Linda Thompson – and easily one of best folk rock records of the 70s – and perhaps any other decade! That's not hyperbole – I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight is so deeply effective, song after song – you're stunned by the end of it! Electric guitars and some fairly heavy drums for this kind of material work along with accordion, krummhorn and other British and European folk elements – which makes for a unique style. When you pair that with such great original songs – and Linda's and Richard's voices, leading the way – it's purely incredible. Titles include "When I Get To The Border", "We Sing Hallelujah", "The Great Valerio", "The Cavalry Cross", "The End Of The Rainbow", "Down Where The Drunkards Roll", and "The Little Beggar Girl". LP 2 features live material, mostly with Linda – but also featuring some Fairport Convention members too – titles that include "Night Comes In", "Calvary Cross", "Dark End Of The Street", "Flee As A Bird", "The Pitfall/Excursion", and "The Ballad Of Easy Rider". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has a wrinkled corner and light wear.)

✨✧ Richard ThompsonRichard Thompson – Guitar/Vocal – A Collection Of Unreleased & Rare Material 1967 to 1976 ... LP
Island, Late 60s/1970s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A great overview of the early years of Richard Thompson – a set that brings together some rare material and classics, all at a level that really shows the multi-faceted genius he had right from the start! In later years, Thompson continued to be known as a skillful singer/songwriter – but here, he's almost as much a guitar hero as he is a vocalist – a sharp-edged talent, no matter what the setting! Highlights include unissued live takes on "Dark End Of The Street", "The Cavalry Cross", "Night Comes In", and "Sweet Little Rock & Roller" – and other titles feature solo work, duets with Linda Thompson, and even a few with Fairport Convention – titles that include "Mr Lacey", "Ballad Of Easy Rider", "Poor Will & The Jolly Hangman", "Flee As A Bird", "A Heart Needs A Home", "It'll Be Me", and "The Pitfall/The Excursion". LP, Vinyl record album
(80s pressing on Carthage. Cover has minimal wear.)
