The title's a bit self-pitying, but the music certainly isn't – and even at this late point in his career, the sound of
Milt Jackson is coming across loud and clear – possibly more so, because
Milt's firmly shaken off the mellower modes of his years with the MJQ! The record has
Jackson working with the Oscar Peterson trio with
Ray Brown on bass and Grady Tate on drums – and the overall structure of the tunes is definitely dictated by Peterson, but very strongly touched by
Jackson once his vibes ring into the mix. Titles include "Stuffy", "Body & Soul", "What Am I Here For", "If I Should Lose You", "A Time For Love", and "Ain't But A Few Of Us Left".
