✨✧ OvationsI Believe I'll Go Back Home/Qualifications ... 7-inch
Goldwax, Late 60s. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
Stellar early work from The Ovations – a sweet soul harmony group with a real love for Sam Cooke! "I Believe" is a nicely stepping number, swaying along with a summer night feel. "Qualifications" is a bit more of a rocker – jauntily vamping, but still with that sweet Sam Cooke style on the vocals! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Jimi Hendrix ExperienceElectric Ladyland (original cover) ... LP
Track, 1968. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... $199.99
A true classic by Jimi with the original Experience lineup – the third of three straight up masterpiece LPs to come out in just over a year's time by the group! You could call the leftfield astral effects in the mix experimental if you had to – innovations in the studio with echo, that hallucinatory backwards sound effect and other stranger bits – but the passionate, naturally expressive playing and singing by Jimi makes it all fell just right, and the Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell still don't get enough credit for being at the heart of such greatness. A massive 2LP effort that includes "Voodoo Chile", "Crosstown Traffic", "Electric Ladyland", "Little Miss Strange", "Moon Turn The Tides", "Still Raining Still Dreaming" and "All Along The Watchtower". LP, Vinyl record album
(70s auto-coupled UK Polydor pressing. Cover has light ring wear, a few light scrapes and pen imprints, some wear at the corners, small dents at the opening, and is bent a bit at the edges.)

✨✧ Eric DolphyLast Date (gatefold cover) ... LP
Limelight, 1964. Very Good- Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A fitting title for a great album – Eric Dolphy's last live recording, performed on June 2, 1964, with a trio of youngsters that included two of the greatest names in European avant garde jazz – Misha Mengelberg and Han Bennink! The sound is jagged and a bit free – showing the way towards even greater innovations that might have marked Dolphy's 60s years, had he not been taken from us so quickly! The album's filled with beautiful Dolphy playing in his late mode – on alto, flute, and bass clarinet – and tracks include "The Madrig Speaks, The Panther Walks", "Miss Ann", and "Hypochristmutreefuz". LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono pressing in the gatefold cover with layered booklet. Cover has light wear, small center split on the top seam.)

✨✧ KashifCondition Of The Heart ... LP
Arista, 1985. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
An 80s soul classic from Kashif – an artist who really helped transform R&B at the time, all without the benefit of a last name! The album's completely arranged and produced by Kashif himself – cementing the reputation he'd begun working behind other artists in the earlier part of the decade before going onto greater fame as a solo act on his own – a rock-solid approach to soul music that bristles with the best innovations of the 80s soul generation. Most tunes are heavy on beats, but use them in just the right ways – and keyboards provide a good amount of the rest of the instrumentation, but fleshed out strongly so that they work well next to the vocals. Tunes are a nicely balanced blend of mature male soul and some slightly catchier groovers – and titles include "Botha Botha", "Dancing In The Dark", "Movie Song", "Say You Love Me", "Stay The Night", and "Condition Of The Heart". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Barry WhiteMan Is Back! ... LP
A&M, 1989. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
The title's got it right – because the Man is definitely back, although in a completely different way than before! Barry White works here in a setting that's nice and lean – those soul changes that came about during them more electric 80s years, but also given that start-of-90s spin that had a deeper sense of soul returning to the music – thanks to innovations by Soul II Soul, Terry Riley, and other groundbreaking talents! There's a vibe that definitely resonates with the younger R&B generation of the time – funky, but in a completely different way than 70s Barry White – and the singer's vocals fit tremendously well amidst the very catchy grooves. Tracks include "Super Lover", "Don't Let Go", "Love's Interlude/Good Night My Love", "I Wanna Do It Good To Ya", "It's Getting Harder All The Time", and "Responsible". LP, Vinyl record album
