An excellent Jon Lucien compilation that's way way better than the one that came out on Razor & Tie! This one features only work from Jon's RCA years – which were easily his best-ever. Plus, it's also got 4 previously unissued tracks that were recorded during the early 70s – but never issued until now. These are titled "Time For Me To Fly", "Child Of Love", "Black Flower", and "Follow Your Heart" – and they're all great! Of course, the other stuff's fantastic, too – and is some of the most godlike jazzy soul ever recorded on this planet. A relatively recent effort by singer Jon Lucien – quite different than his 70s work, but not in a bad way! Jon's voice is smooth and mellow, as always, and the arrangements are equally so – perhaps not as challenging as his early 70s work, but with a gentle and jazzy groove that still brings out some nice moments, especially on the older songs.
