✨✧ ChicGood Times/Warm Summer Night ... 7-inch
Atlantic, 1979. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
One of the blueprints of hip hop! At the time, Chic's "Good Times" just seemed like a wickedly funky pop tune – but who knew that that bass and guitar groove would inspire a whole generation of hip hoppers, bouncing along in a groove that was at once at home on the roller rink or the wheels of steel! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Gene Chandler & Jaime LynnYou're The One/I Keep Coming Back For More ... 7-inch
Salsoul, Early 1980s. Very Good+ ... $9.99
Although Gene Chandler is best known for his 60's Chicago soul hits, he also did some great modern soul tracks right around the turn of the 80's. This cut is one of them, and it's a sweet midtempo duet with Jaime Lynn that features some excellent mellow arrangements by Sonny Sanders. Gene's voice is as great as ever, and the production is very nice. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Garland GreenLet The Good Times Roll/You And I Go Good Together ... 7-inch
Spring, 1974. Very Good ... $1.99
Garland Green's great remake of this classic! He sings it with a nice deep Chicago soul style, augmented by some of the slightly modern/southern style production of the Spring label. "You & I Go Good" is even better, though – a sweetly stepping number that follows in the spirit of Garland's Uni classics – crackling vocals sounding wonderful on the top, while an undeniable groove bubbles in the back! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Labels have light ring wear.)

Guys & DollsChinatown/Could This Be Love ... 7-inch
Karol, 1970. Very Good ... $4.99
One of our favorite ever singles from Chicago! "Chinatown" is a hilarous (and slightly racist) soul track about the asian community, with some great fake "Chinese" singing. Very much in the tradition of tracks like "Ling Ting Tong"! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Walter JacksonIt's All Over/Lee Cross ... 7-inch
Okeh, Late 60s. Good ... $2.99
A crowning moment of the Chicago soul scene of the 60s! Nobody was better than Walter Jackson at Iceman soul – and no cut of his carried this off better than the sublime "It's All Over" – one of those incredible tunes that we never tire of hearing! "Lee Cross" is more uptempo and gimmicky, but still a hit for Walter! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Label has some wear.)

Love, Devotion, & HappinessJoy, Sweet Joy/Yesterday's Fool ... 7-inch
P.E.U. Jadan, Early 70s. Very Good ... $14.99
Nice! We don't know if this is the same Love, Devotion, & Happiness that later recorded for RCA – but the single's an obscure one, on a tiny Chicago label, with arrangements by Tom Tom Washington. "Joy Sweet Joy" is a nice mellow mid-tempo track, with a dope production sound, and sweet soulful female vocals. 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Vinyl has an edge chip, and plays with a click at the very beginning of "Joy")

Cash McCallMore Power To You/I'll Always Love You ... 7-inch
PS Records, Early 70s. Very Good- ... $19.99
Excellent work from this Chicago soul great! "More Power" is one of Cash's best songs – and it's got a hard-rolling funky sound that reminds us a lot of some of Syl Johnson's work on Twinight. Like those cuts, it's got a rolling bass at the bottom – pushing Cash's voice over the top, and keeping the track humming all the way through. "I'll Always Love" is great too – a slower ballad number, but done beautifully, with raw vocals from Cash! 7-inch, Vinyl record
