✨✧ Stelvio CiprianiBlindman (splatter vinyl pressing) (2023 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Abkco, 1971. Sealed ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A unique western soundtrack – written for a strange early 70s Italian film that featured Ringo Starr! Composer Stelvio Cipriani didn't score as many westerns as some of his Italian contemporaries, and that fact makes for a really unique approach to the genre here – one that breaks past western conventions, and features some very unusual moments! Many tunes have some of the sweeter touches that Cipriani brought to his romantic and crime scoring for other films – modes that don't normally show up in westerns, and which provide a fresh juxtaposition here next to some of the more guitar-based songs. A number of the tracks have wordless vocals – either from Nora Orlandi or Choir 4+4 – and these voices enhance the mood of the soundtrack a lot, often with chanting that has a cool spooky edge! LP, Vinyl record album
(2023 RSD pressing on blood splatter vinyl – still sealed with hype sticker.)

✨✧ VariousOther Side Of Sun Part 2 – Sun Records Curated By Record Store Day Vol 5 ... LP
Sun/ORG, Late 60s. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Don't think Sun Records here – think SSS International – as most of this work comes from the late 60s efforts of producer Shelby Singleton, whose soul labels were bought by Sam Phillips and folded into Sun International! There's lots of great Tennessee soul grooves here – most of them pretty rare – and titles include "Wait Until Tomorrow" by The United Notions, "All I Want Is You" by Betty Harris, "I Can't Be All Bad" by Johnny Adams, "How Much Can A Man Take" by Big John Hamilton, "You Better Get Gone Baby" by The Jesters, "Hanging Heavy In My Mind" by Doris Allen, "You See Me" by Robert Parker, "Mama's Baby" by Marilyn Haywood, and "There's A DJ In Your Town" by Samson & Delilah. Jack Van PollHi Jackin' (180 gram gold vinyl pressing) ... LP
Decca/Music On Vinyl (Netherlands), 1972. Sealed ... $14.99
A massive Fender Rhodes set from early 70s Belgium – the kind of set that never shows up on this side of the Atlantic, and which is pretty darn rare in its home territory too! Keyboardist Jack Van Poll has a wonderful sense of space on this set – a way of letting the tunes build simply and gracefully – often with a slow-growing groove that lets the Rhodes roll along wonderfully – never too slow, though, and always with a sweet funky undercurrent! And while we'd never heard of Jack before this set, he's got a great sense of style and imagination on his solos – very open, but always with a soulful undercurrent. The rest of the trio includes Mary Hehuat on Fender bass and Ruud Pronk on drums – and titles include "Marriedyet", "Blue Tait", "A Box For Leslie", "Sweet Georgie Fame", "Passage To Pferov", and "Objizdka". LP, Vinyl record album
(Unplayed copy in a resealable sleeve – 2022 Record Store Day pressing, with hype stickers.)

Craft, Mid 1960s. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A well-chosen batch of rare garage rock gems from the 60s – rare work from labels that include Stax, Fantasy, Original Sound, and Vanguard – including three never-issued tracks! The choice of material is great, and the whole thing features notes from producer Alec Palao – a name we've really come to trust for sets like this, which go way past the hits and obvious choices. Titles include "Can't Get Enough" by The Pullice, "Attention" by Lonnie Duvall, "Harmonica Man" by The Torquays, "Psychotic Reaction (unedited version)" by Count Five, "She's Gone" by Group B, "Double Whammy" by Jack Bedient & The Chessmen, "In The Night" by The Bittersweets, "Short Haired Fathers" by Circus Maximus, "Anytime Anywhere" by The Squires, "This Calls For A Celebration" by The Fantastic Zoo, "Rat Race" by The Tears, "I Can't Make A Friend" by The Vagrants, "The Animal In Me" by The Orfuns, and "The People In Me (full length version)" by The Music Machine. VariousLocal Customs – Pressed At Boddie ... LP
Boddie/Numero, 1960s/1970s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... Just Sold Out!
Numero does it again – unleashing an amazing batch of work for the first time ever – all packaged in a very limited Record Store Day set! The collection features material that was pressed up at the tiny Boddie pressing plant in Cleveland – a wonderful range of local artists from the late 60s through the mid 80s – all served up with the usual Numero flair! The set's a rich discovery of sounds we'd never have heard otherwise – and although it's slanted heavily towards rare funk and soul, there's also some compelling indie rock sides too – especially some homegrown, dark-toned sounds from the 80s – clearly influenced by the styles in the UK underground. The set features 17 tracks in all – including "Don't Stop Smiling" by Jus Us, "Just A Dream" by Imperial Wonders, "Love Is On The Way" by Bill Spoon, "Let Me Go" by The Harmonics, "I'm Gonna Treat You Good" by The Donations, "Good For The Gander" by Hot Chocolate, "Woman You're Gonna Pay For This" by Wicked Lester, "The Voyage Of The Nautilus" by Russell Potter, and "Snakepit" by Berlin West. LP, Vinyl record album
(Purple & brown vinyl pressing.)
