✨✧ Strawberry Alarm Clock/Storybook/SeedsPsych-Out ... LP
Sidewalk, 1968. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Hip, hazy Sunset Strip psych tunes from the mid 60s American International exploitation flick Psych-Out – that notorious flick starring Susan Strasberg, Dean Stockwell, Bruce Dern and Jack Nicholson as Stoney! Totally killer stuff from The Seeds, trippier, flute-y and organ washed grooves from Strawberry Alarm Clock and thematically titled numbers from The Storybook! Includes "The Pretty Song From Psych-Out" , "Psych-Out Sanctorum", "The Love Children" and "Psych-Out" by The Storybook – plus "Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow" and "The World's On Fire" by Strawberry Alarm Clock, "Two Fingers Pointed At You" by The Seeds and the crazy, brazen "Purple Haze" ripoff "Ashbury Wednesday" credited to Boenzee Cryque – performed by Jack Nicholson's group in the flick! This CD edition from Reel Time has a bonus version of "The Pretty Song From Psych-Out" – this one by The Strawberry Alarm Clock! (Rock, Soundtracks) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Philippe Sarde/Stan GetzMort D'un Pourri ... CD
Universal (France), 1977. Used ... Out Of Stock
A lost jazzy gem – featuring solo work by the great Stan Getz! The soundtrack is one of Philippe Sarde's greatest of the 70s – warm and mellow, with a dark edge that's fitting for the moody Georges Lautner film that accompanied it. But the real treat here is Getz – who solos with that freely exploratory tone that he brought to some of his best later recordings – a style started with the classic Sweet Rain, and brought into play on the Dynasty and Captain Marvel albums, both of which were some of his greatest work of later years. Tracks are shortish, and Getz plays with an urgency that's missing from many other 70s sides – and titles include "Solitude", "Valerie", "Dans Le Regard D'Alain Delon", "Paris Cinq Heures Du Matin", and "Tout Est Tranquille". CD also features 2 tracks from the soundtrack to the film Est-Ce Bien Raisonnable, from 1981. CD
