One of our favorite albums ever from the great pianist Mal Waldron – a wonderfully sensitive session, originally done as a soundtrack for a film – but music that also stands alone very strongly on its own! The group here is wonderful, and a bit unusual – a lineup that includes George
Coleman on alto, Charles Davis on tenor, Dave Burns on trumpet, Richard Davis on bass, and Al
fred Dreares on drums – working beautifully together, in shifting formation – to interpret original Waldron tunes that include "Espresso Time", "Smokin", "Brindle's Place", "The Search", and "Candy's Ride".
(Jazz, Soundtracks) (Orange and black label mono pressing – a nice copy! Cover has a small cutout hole – but this is a great copy overall.)
