Genius —
Genius ... LP P&M/Easy Tempo (Italy), 1974. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ...
Temporarily Out Of Stock
A really wild little funky record – one that's got very obscure origins on the Argentine scene of the 70s, and which serves up an unusual blend of soul, funk, and sound library modes! The tunes have plenty of wicked basslines, heavy drums, and riffing guitar – all of which draw inspiration from American funk of the time – yet there's also weird use of processed vocals, sound samples, moogy keyboards, and other elements that continue to keep things interesting – sometimes with this fake urban vibe that can feature spoken parts that are really cool – augmented even more on a few funky edits that are added to the original album. Titles include "Inspector Jones", "4:00 In The Morning", "Bermilyia Avenue", "Arroz Con Leche", and "Adults Edit" – plus "Inspector Jones (John is missing edit)", "Adults Only (juicy edit)", "Bermilyia Avenue (light touches edit)", and "Arroz Con Leche (stripped extended edit)". LP, Vinyl record album

Maurice Lecoeur —
Musiques Pour L'Image ... LP Transversales Disques (France), 1970s. New Copy ...
Temporarily Out Of Stock
Really funky sounds from Maurice Lecoeur – an overlooked French soundtrack genius of the 70s – and one who worked in territory that was way past familiar standards for film! If you know the music of Francois DeRoubaix, you'll find plenty here to love – because like DeRoubaix, Lecoeur effortlessly mixes acoustic and electric, groovy and laidback, funky and jazzy – all with styles that move from full instrumentation to much sparer moments – at a level that matches if not beats some of the coolest sound library material of the time! Each track seems to have a very different vibe, which really keeps things interesting – and plenty funky too – and the package features 22 rare nuggets that include "Le Ballet Inacheve", "Sans Premeditation", "Baoou", "Safari Au Kivu Theme 1", "Faux Suspense", "Le Soleil Qui Rit Rouge", "Les Petites Filles Modeles", "Donne Moi La Terre", "Tartares", and "Chili". LP, Vinyl record album
Groovy stuff – and even better than the earlier volumes! This one's got some great tracks by European jazz artists, lots of whom you'll recognize from labels like MPS, but who are represented here by rare sound library-only recordings! There's a total of 14 tracks in all, with lots of nice keyboards, groovy reed solos, 70's electric basslines, and other groovy soundtrack-y jazz moments. Includes "Count Down" by Roland Kovac Trio, "Safari Track" by Hardy's Jet Band, "Hot Track" by Rex Brown Company, "Goukai" by Atilla Zoller, "Soft Wind" by Gary Pacific Orchestra, "Straussmania" by Daniel Salinas, "Super Baby" by Dusko Goykovich, "Casting Office" by Rolf Kuhn, and lots lots more! (Funky Compilations, Sound Library)LP, Vinyl record album
