Mad mad work from the great Nino Nardini – one of the greatest keyboard players to ever grace the sound library scene! This album was never officially issued, but is an incredibly strong bit of "commercial music", created initially for use by radio and TV stations, but just as good as anything that was on the market at the time. The music is a mix of jazz funk and 70s exotica – played on electric and acoustic instruments, mixing piano, moog, and congas into a swirling blend that's similar to the group Mandingo, but which also has lots of other 70s soundtrack elements. The track "Jungle Obsession" begins with a nice little drumbreak, then rolls into some wild bass-y moog riffs punctuated by other bits of computer music. Other tracks have voices, percussion, and even a bit of strings – and the whole thing's an extremely fresh bit of jungle funk! Everybody's getting in on the funky sound library action! This set of rare funky gems was selected by Luke Vibert – who's confessed to a love of the odder and more obscure side of the 70s Brit sound library scene. The set's way better than you might think – as Luke really knows his stuff – and the tracks on here have a very different sound than the regular sound library funky instrumentals, with a lot more electronics, lots of keyboards, moog, bleeps, blonks, and plenty of funky beats! 2nd cool volume of this great series of funky sound library tracks put together by the Spinning Wheel record store in Germany! Like the first volume, this one's got a killer set of grooves that you'll never find in the original, and which are laid down by some of the funkiest cats working in Europe during the 70's. There's stuff on here by Nino Nardini (and not cuts from the Desco reissue), Klaus Weiss, Jean Jacques Perry, Guy Boyer, and Georges Arvanitas – and the set's even more well-selected and well-congealed than the first one.
