Sweet electronic sounds from 70s France – pulled from a range of sources that include disco records, prog rock sets, sound library sessions, and even film soundtracks – all served up with a very cool, very cosmic sort of vibe! The French scene took its electronics differently than some of the other European scenes of the period – and often mixed in bits of keyboards or moog with more conventional instrumentation – or sometimes worked in an all-electronic mode, but with a warmth that was different than the colder sounds to come in the post-punk years! As a result, the music here is surprisingly soulful at times, and often nice and funky – while still having some of the edgier modes you might expect from soundtracks or spacier records of the period.
