✨✧ Andrzej KorzynskiSecret Enigma 1968 to 1981 – Rare & Unreleased Polish Experimental Orch-Pop-Rock-Jazz & Film Music ... LP
Finders Keepers (UK), Late 60s/1970s/Early 80s. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Weird and wild sounds from 60s/70s composer Andrzej Korzynski – an artist we mostly know from soundtrack material, but represented here by a rich array of rare material from his personal archives! The scope of styles is really wonderful – as the set steps between funky numbers and very offbeat instrumentals – kind of the full range of sound library elements you might get from the hippest European scenes of the 70s – no surprise, given that this material was recorded in France, Italy, and Poland! Some tunes are heavy on electronics, others use a mix of acoustic and electric instruments together – and almost all the tracks are relatively short, and work together as this shifting palette of musical statements from Korzynski – almost a mini-movie in sound, with all the vivid qualities that reference implies. Titles include "Third Part Of The Night Main Theme)", "Diabel", "La Grabuge", "Roza Roza", "Bossa Nova", "Saved From Oblivion", "Trying To Catch A Fly", "Agent No 1", "Tajemnica Enigmy", and "W Instyucie". Andrzej KorzynskiThird Part Of Night (10 inch pressing) ... LP
Finders Keepers (UK), 1971. New Copy ... $27.99 34.99
An early pairing of composer Andrzej Korzynski and director Andrzej Zulawski – a Polish duo who show that groovy vampire films aren't just the stuff of the southern European scene in the 70s! Korzynski's music for the movie is really wonderful – starting with a wicked fuzzy funky theme that feels like it's lifted right out of Vampyros Lesbos – and followed by other groovy tracks that are often heavy on electric bass at the bottom – used to set a scary mood on the spookier numbers, and create an upbeat groove on the swinging ones! This limited 10" release only sports 9 tracks, but they're all pretty great – and the whole thing is almost like a condensation of the best elements you'd find in much longer soundtracks with a lot of filler in between. Titles include the main title theme and reprise, "Tango", "Dworek", "Lapanka", "Szpital" (parts 1 and 2), "Na Strychu", and "W Instyucie". (Soundtracks, Sound Library) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Andrzej KorzynskiWielki Szu (with bonus tracks) ... CD
GAD (Poland), Early 1980s. New Copy ... $13.99 19.99
A rare set from a soundtrack artist who's finally getting his due – Poland's Andrzej Korzynski, whose work was mostly cut off from the rest of us during the years of Soviet dominance! Despite that remove, though, Korzynski works here in a keyboard mode that resonates with some of the coolest electric film scores in western Europe at the time, particularly the balance of spaciousness, melody, and darker currents that showed up in a number of French film scores of the early 80s – modes that were decidedly different than some of the US uses of keyboards during the period, partly because they weren't afraid to let things get a bit sweet from time to time. The sounds here are maybe not as crazy as some of Korzynski's other material, but still come across great in the spirit of the style – and titles include "Karty", "Victoria", "Milocsc Szu II", "Smierc", "Powrot", "Wielki Szu I", and "Motel Disco". CD features 12 more bonus tracks tracks from the film Dzien Kolibra – including "Przegrana", "Blue Master", and "Tylko Punk Rock". (Soundtracks, Sound Library) CD
