✨✧ FantasiaSweet Sweet City Rhythm ... CD
Amazon/Ultra Vybe (Japan), 1978. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A 70s album on Miami's powerhouse TK Records – but a set that's got a real northeast pedigree, given that arrangements were handled by John Davis, and the whole thing was recorded at the New York branch of Sigma Sound! Peggy Santiglia handles the lead vocals, but many of the tracks are long-spun numbers in the best disco-suite mode – almost a record of 12" single cuts, but maybe a bit more concise! Davis is in prime form throughout – with modes that sometimes get a big funky in the best late 70s club tradition – and titles include "Fantasia/Carnival", "Sweet Sweet City Rhythm", "Go On And Dance To The Music", and "Alice Street". ✨✧ PiranhaHeaded In The Right Direction ... LP
Amazon South/P-Vine (Japan), 1981. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Bassy funk from the early 80s southern scene – the only album we've ever seen from Piranha, and a gem of a tight little set! The groove here is roughly in the mode of some of the better-known northern club groups in the post-disco years – crafted with lots of boogie bass on the bottom and tight rhythms throughout the set. But there's also a style that's a bit more in the ensemble funk mode here too – one that still keeps most of the instrumentation acoustic, and which has a bit less keyboards and electric percussion than other boogie-era work. Titles include "Funk-a-sol", "One Sided Love", "Let's Get It Back Together", "Good Time Lady", "Headed In The Right Direction", and "Let Your Feelings Show". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ MaximillianMaximillian (2023 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
ABC/Riding Easy, 1969. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A really messed-up blend of soul, rock, and blues – done in a style that's very much in keeping with the genre-busting Fillmore scene of the late 60s! Maximillian are a trio who run through Hendrix-like guitars, deep soul styled vocals, and bluesy riffing – often in the course of the same number – and the album's produced and arranged by Teddy Vann with a really wonderful approach that keeps things from getting too sloppy, and which propels the record forward without falling into the kind of traps that you'd get from other groups of this nature. Titles include "Moby's House", "The Road Rat", "Naked Ape", "Kickin 9 to 5", "Scar On My Memory", and "Little Amazon". (Rock, Soul) LP, Vinyl record album

Groovy stuff, and different than their Salsoul album of the same name – with tracks that include "Amazonian Jungle", "Ay Carmela", "Toca Toca", "Viva Rio", "Kings Of Clubs", "Porque No", and "Super Medley". (Global Grooves, Soul) LP, Vinyl record album
