✨✧ StylisticsStylistics ... LP
Avco, 1971. Very Good- ... Out Of Stock
A masterpiece of harmony soul – one of THE all-time greats of the genre, and a lasting treasure from The Stylistics! The album really took vocal soul to a whole new level for the 70s – pushing from the sometimes fragile ballad style of the late 60s into a smoother, more mature sound that was impeccably produced, yet still had all the depth of feeling as before! Maestro Thom Bell is the man to thank for the greatness of this album – as his production and musical vision really helped The Stylistics hit levels that few other groups like this were reaching at the time. Titles include their seminal long version of "People Make the World Go Round" – which, at 6 minutes in length, was really unusual for the time. Other titles include "Stop Look & Listen", "Betcha By Golly Wow", "You're A Big Girl Now", "If I Love You", "Ebony Eyes", and "You Are Everything". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Little Anthony & The ImperialsOn A New Street ... LP
Avco, 1973. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Wonderful work from Little Anthony – and a great update to his smooth 60s harmony sound with The Imperials! Anthony wisely employs the use of two of 70s top harmony arrangers on the album – using Thom Bell on one side, and Teddy Randazzo on the other – both of whom really help take the group to a whole new level! The Thom Bell material fits perfectly with his work with The Stylistics from the same time, and the cuts have a wonderfully mellow east coast harmony style that's quite different than Anthony's earlier work. Teddy Randazzo does a pretty nice job, too – but with a fuller sound too, almost in a Manhattans mode that makes for a nice change from the previous fragility of Anthony's vocals. Titles include "I Don't Have Time To Worry", "That's What Love is All About", "I'm Falling In Love with You", "Heartache Never Entered My Mind", and "The Loneliest House on the Block". ✨✧ StylisticsRound 2 (no fists) ... LP
Avco, 1972. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Landmark harmony soul from The Stylistics – a set that's every bit as wonderful as their debut, with the kind of sweet, soulful sound that got played over and over and over and over again back in the day! The album's got a subtle sort of power, though – one that lies not only in its classic cover image, but also in the way that the group mix up the fragile themes of love with some deeper aspects of the human condition – heard to best effect on the classic "Children Of The Night" – a massive 7 minute number that stands nicely next to the shorter singles. Thom Bell produced and arranged the whole thing to Philly perfection – with lots of help from Linda Creed on the songwriting – and titles include "Children of the Night", "Break Up To Make Up", "You'll Never Get To Heaven", "Stone In Love With You", "It's Too Late", "If You Don't Watch Out", and "Peek A Boo". ✨✧ StylisticsRockin' Roll Baby ... LP
Avco, 1973. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
The third album by The Stylistics – and a set that's still very much in the high-harmony territory of their first two classics! Thom Bell's still very firmly on deck this time around – arranging, producing, and writing a good deal of the material too – and the Sigma Sound recording setting ensures plenty of key Philly help in the studio – just the right balance of musicians to get the album's mellow and uptempo tracks sounding their best! This is the kind of set that countless groups tried to copy back in the day, but hardly ever got this right at all – and titles include the sly number "Payback Is A Dog", plus "Love Comes Easy", "I Won't Give You Up", "Make It Last", "Only For The Children", and "Rockin' Roll Baby" – plus the massive crossover number "You Make Me Feel Brand New". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ StylisticsWonder Woman ... LP
H&L, 1977. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
The Stylistics work their way through a nice batch of material by Hugo & Luigi. The sound's not entirely the same as their earlier work with Thom Bell, but there's some very nice moments – thanks to good arrangements by Horace Ott. Titles include "Wonder Woman", "Good Thing Goin' On", "Lucky Me", "Give A Little Love", and "Fool Of The Year". LP, Vinyl record album

Army Reserve/Narwood, 1975. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold ... $9.99 24.99
Totally cool! This one's a 2LP set produced by the US Army Reserve – featuring 4 separate radio shows hosted by DJ Al Gee, and featuring interviews with and music by the 4 artists named above. The music on the set is lifted from records from the time by the artists, and is interspersed with the interview parts – all sounding very nice! LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has minimal wear.)
