✨✧ Dave Baby CortezHappy Organ (Design) ... LP
Clock/Design, 1959. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
Stomping organ instrumentals from Dave Baby Cortez – early singles done for the Clock label at the end of the 50s! Cortez brought a style to the instrument that was as wild as some of the guitarists and saxophonists of his time – a mode that wasn't really jazz, was a bit R&B, and which helped give the organ a much leaner sound than some of its "skating rink" uses in pop during the decade before. Titles include "The Happy Organ", "Hey Hey Hey", "Fiesta", "Riffin", and "Come On & Stomp". (Soul, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Joe JacksonBody & Soul ... LP
A&M, 1984. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A real step forward for Joe Jackson, and a record that has plenty of jazz in the mix – as you might guess from its cover's hommage to a Sonny Rollins 50s album on Blue Note! Titles include "You Can't Get What You Want", "Be My Number Two", "Loisaida", "Happy Ending", "Not Here Not Now", "Cha Cha Loco", and "The Verdict". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has a promo stamp.)

✨✧ Sunshine CompanyHappy Is The Sunshine Company ... LP
Imperial, 1968. Good ... Out Of Stock
A great batch of late 60s soft rock from the Sunshine Company – a group cut from the same cloth as the Millenium, Fifth Dimension and others of the ilk, with perhaps a little bit darker of an edge. Includes "Up, Up And Away", "I Need You", "Just Beyond Your Smile", "Rain", "Happy", "I Just Want To Be Your Friend", and more! LP, Vinyl record album

Bruce SpringsteenRiver ... LP
Columbia, 1980. Sealed 2LP ... $29.99 34.99
Prime classic Springsteen double album, circa 1980! The River finds Bruce a few years removed from the massive breakthrough that was Born To Run, and seemingly starting to let go of the darker tone of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, though still with some shadows of it. Definitely a creative high point, and a record we're always happy to revisit. Includes "The Ties That Bind", "Hungry Heart", "Out In The Street", "Fade Away", "Ramrod", "Drive All Night", "Wreck On The Highway", "Independence Day" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(180 gram remaster from 2015, still sealed with hype sticker.)

Ronnie BarronReverend Ether ... LP
Decca, 1971. Very Good+ ... $24.99
One of the few albums ever issued by Ronnie Barron – an artist with a long range of work on the New Orleans scene, ties to Dr John, and even a role in the Woodstock scene of the early 70s – all of which really come through on this well-done set! Barron's got all the roots in his music that you'd guess from that legacy – some Nola moments in the rhythms, and a great ability to add a lot of character to his lyrics – sometimes shifting nicely from track to track, and bringing a lot of funky charm to the whole thing! Titles include "Duke Of Crenshaw", "Happy Happy Happy", "Let It Shine", "Freeway Mama", "Louisiana Flood", and "Don't Let My Husband Catch You". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has a trace of a sticker, a cutout hole, and general wear.)

Cher3614 Jackson Highway (180 gram pressing – with bonus LP) ... LP
Atco/Run Out Groove, 1969. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... $29.99
Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound, the studio referenced in the title of the album, and presented in a wonderful cover image that has Cher standing outside the tiny facility with a host of legendary studio players that include Eddie Hinton, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Beckett, and Roger Hawkins! Sonny's also standing in the crowd in the photo, but he's as in the background as he is on this set – as Cher's singing alone in a soul-styled mode that's befits the setting of the album. Titles include a funky take on "I Walk On Guilded Splinters", plus "For What It's Worth", "Cry Like A Baby", "Save The Children", "Do Right Woman", and "Dock Of The Bay". Plus, the 2LP set features a huge amount of bonus tracks – 11 more numbers from a whole second Muscle Shoals album, but which was never issued – with titles that include "Momma Look Sharp", "Chastity's Song", "It Gets Me Where I Want To Go", "Easy To Be Hard", "I Believe", "You've Made Me So Very Happy", and "The First Time". LP, Vinyl record album
(180 gram clear & purple vinyl pressing. Includes the insert.)

Fat MattressFat Mattress II ... LP
Atco, 1970. Very Good+ ... $11.99 14.99
A second set of psychedelic folk grooves from Fat Mattress – featuring bassist Noel Redding, back working again with drummer Pete Kircher, a bandmate from The Lonely Ones before Noel went on the to massive popularity with the Jimi Hendrix Experience! Fat Mattress II has a couple of fuzzier jams, but for the most part sticks with the more breezy folk psyche sound of the debut. Really fine stuff, worth checking out! Titles include "The Storm", "Anyway You Want", "Leafy Lunes", "Naturally", "Roamin", "Happy My Love", "Childhood Dream", "She", "Highway", "At The Ball" and "People". LP, Vinyl record album
(Yellow Broadway label stereo pressing. Cover has light surface wear.)

ShaggsPhilosophy Of The World ... LP
Third World, 1969. Near Mint- ... $59.99
The weird, raw and legendary debut of teen trio The Shaggs – recorded in a single day and issued by the Third World label back in the day, before slowly building a devoted cult following over the years! The Shaggs story of a young girl group and their dad manager dreaming big and hoping for stardom, but the stunningly primitive sound actually makes the patron saints of outsider art rock and indie rock to come – it's messy and amazing to this day! Odd and hypnotic, it's an outsider classic unlike any other. Includes "Philosophy Of The World", "That Little Sports Car", "Who Are Parents", "My Pal Foot Foot", "My Companion", "I'm So Happy When You're Near", "Things I I Wonder", "It's Halloween", "Why Do I Feel?", "What Should I Do", "My Companion", "Sweet Thing", "We Have A Savoir" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Early 80s yellow label Red Rooster/Rounder pressing. Cover has some edge wear, light aging, and a tiny mark and some remnants from price sticker removal.)

✨✧ DamnedBlack Album ... LP
IRS, 1980. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
The weird, ambitious double album by The Damned! The Damned is definitely one of the more unpredictable punk bands of the era, and they upped the ante on The Black Album, with some creatively restless material on all 4 sides – which is ambitious in and of itself, given the less-is-more ethic followed by a lot of the seminal punks of the era. It's got some loud-fast "traditional" punk, darker, plus some darker, stranger cuts – including one that fills a side alll by itself in "Curtain Call" – plus a 4th side of live tracks. Includes ""Wait For The Blackout", "Lively Arts", "Silly Kids Games", "Drinking About My Baby", "Twisted Nerve", "Hit Or Miss", "Dr. Jeckyll And Mr. Hyde","13th Floor Vendetta", "Therapy", "New Rose", "I Just Can't Be Happy Today" and more. ✨✧ Humble PieThunderbox ... LP
A&M, 1974. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Humble Pie scales back a bit on Thunderbox – a tighter set than the preceding Eat It – but like that album, it's overlooked these days and it has plenty to recommend it! The Steve Marriot's and Clem Clemson's guitars bring the thunder, but the wailing harmonica and the soulfu vocals by the Blackberries sweeten or tart it up, depending on the needs of the tune – with some groovy organ and horns, too. Titles include "Thunderbox", "Groovin' With Jesus", "I Can't Stand The Rain", "Don't Worry, Be Happy", "Ninety-Nine Pounds", "Drift Away", "Rally With Ali" and more. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Emitt RhodesEmitt Rhodes ... LP
Dunhill, 1970. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A really great self-titled set from Emitt Rhodes – a compelling California singer who hardly ever gets his due! The music's a wonderful mix of California late 60s singer/songwriter modes and bits of Beatles-esque production – a blend that makes for a fuller feel than usual for a record like this – a bit more confidence, and some really great punch in the overall sound, but never in a way that's slick or commercial. Emitt handled all instruments and arrangements himself – and Curt Boettcher helped a bit on the mix down, so we're happy to credit him for part of the "punch". Titles include "With My Face On The Floor", "She's Such A Beauty", "Promises I've Made", "Long Time No See", and "You Take The Dark Out Of The Night". LP, Vinyl record album
