Creedence Clearwater RevivalWilly & The Poor Boys (180 gram pressing – half speed master) ... LP
Fantasy, 1969. New Copy ... $24.99 29.99
It's hard to get any more classic than this for Creedence Clearwater Revival – as this legendary late 60s album is definitely the place where it all comes together! The pairing of John Fogerty's lead guitar and the scratching rhythm guitar of brother Tom really sounds wonderful here – driven on by tight bass and drums, but always with this rootsy edge that stretches from the Bay Area scene way down to the bayou! Titles include the classic "Down On The Corner" and a great version of "The Midnight Special" – plus "It Came Out Of The Sky", "Side Of The Road", "Effigy", "Don't Look Now", and "Fortunate Son". LP, Vinyl record album
(180 gram half speed master pressing housed in a replica tip on jacket.)

AcanthusLe Frisson Des Vampires (transparent blood red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Finders Keepers (UK), 1971. New Copy ... $26.99
One of the most obscure entries in the short-lived genre of prog-based horror soundtracks – and one of the best as well – music by the French group Acanthus, served up here for a creepy film by director Jean Rollin! In a way, the use of electric guitar with vampires is maybe even spookier than strings or organ – as the instrument brings on this sense of hedonistic freedom that really matches the tension of desire in the narrative – handled here in ways that are sometimes psychedelic, sometimes more spacious – on tunes that are mostly short, but which clearly have that prog possibility of springing into longform action! The music also has some eerie reed work and bits of organ – plus other odd sounds too – on titles that include "Funerailles Des Vampires", "Le Frisson Des Vampires", "La Chateau", "Wedding Party", "Occupied Clock", "Who Are You", "Blood-Cups", "Isabelles Demise", "Night Excursion", "Isa's Ceremony", "Flightless Bird", "The Shiver Of The Vampires", and "Envol Vers La Folie". (Soundtracks, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(Please Note – The covers on these has a slightly bumped corner from shipping.)

✨✧ Matt BerryPhantom Birds (red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Acid Jazz (UK), 2020. New Copy ... $17.99 19.99
Completely wonderful work from Matt Berry – an actor that most folks know for his hilarious performances in a number of TV shows – but also a surprisingly strong singer/songwriter, with a down to earth and honest vibe that's completely different than his role on screen! In fact, forget all about Matt Berry on screen – even though we love his work there so much – because this Matt Berry is a completely different individual, one who paints these songs that are often surprisingly dark, but never dreary – and surprisingly honest, both in the lyricism and the execution – which often has Berry singing with a style that's far less ironic than his delivery of his lines. Matt handles most instrumentation – piano, organ, mellotron from his collection of vintage keyboards – plus guitars and harmonica – next to a bit of pedal steel and drums from BJ Cole and Craig Blundell, respectively. Titles include "Man Of Doom", "Something In My Eye", "Intermission", "Hail To The King", "Covered In Clowns", "You Danced All Night", and "Phantom Birds". LP, Vinyl record album
Also available Phantom Birds ... CD 13.99

David BowieAladdin Sane (45th anniversary silver vinyl pressing) ... LP
Virgin, 1973. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... $21.99
One of our favorite David Bowie albums ever! Aladdin Sane was a real turning point for Bowie – recorded on the heels of the tremendously popular Ziggy Stardust album, but really pushing the boundaries past the more straight-ahead rock and glam of that record. Instead of just sitting on his laurels, Bowie tripped out into a wilder, weirder world with this one – mixing together elements of some of the baroque arrangements of early records, with the meaner leaner sound of the 70s – populating the songs with freaks, weirdos, and odd characters that gave the whole thing a really creepy edge. The whole thing's an oft-overlooked gem that, to us, is truly one of Bowie's most magical moments – and titles include "Drive In Saturday", "Panic In Detroit", "Aladdin Sane", "Watch That Man", "The Jean Genie", "The Prettiest Star", "Time", and "Lady Grinning Soul". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition silver colored vinyl – exclusive to indie brick and mortar stores in the US.)

Nicholas CarrasDate Bait (red vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD & zine) ... LP
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1960. New Copy ... $18.99 24.99
A great little soundtrack from trash maestro Nicholas Carras – not one of the bigger names in mainstream cinema scoring at the start of the 60s – but in a way that really lets him take off and get creative with a record like this! The album's got a leadoff rock tune, some jazzier charts – ala Elmer Bernstein – and a mix of dramatic orchestrations with moodier, mellower passages – almost currents of exotica at times, all put together to create more than enough drama away from the images on the screen! Titles include "Teen Bleus", "Vegas Express", "Jazz Chase", "Fight", "7D", "Lover's Reunion", "High Spot", "Bluesy Mysterio", and "Gang Stalks Rick". (Soundtracks, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(Red vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD of the movie, and a zine too!)

Roky EricksonEvil One (purple vinyl pressing) ... LP
Light In The Attic, 1981. New Copy 2LP ... On December 18, 2020
Roky Erickson's fantastic early 80s material with The Aliens – tracks that were produced by Creedence Clearwater Revival's Stu Cook – with some of the most straight-forward and accessible rockers in Roky's canon, but still sporting his trademark eccentricity! Given his mythical personal history, you can easy describe Roky Erickson as "having demons" – but as you'll hear, he's also got two-headed dogs, vampires, zombies, fire demons, ghosts and Lucifer himself – just on this one record! The tracks have an odd release history – having been recorded in the late 70s, but not released until 1980 in the UK on the Five Symbols record, and in '81 as The Evil One LP, with an altered tracklist. This definitive Light In The Attic version gathers up all 15 amazing tracks from the Stu Cook sessions from '77-'79. Includes the legendary "Two Headed Dog" and many more tunes that are just as incredible! Titles include "I Walked With A Zombie", "Night Of The Vampire", "It's A Cold Night For Alligators", "Mine Mine Mind", "I Think Of Demons", "Creature With The Atom Brain", "Bloody Hammer", "Don't Shake Me Lucifer", "If You Have Ghosts" and more. 45 GraveSleep In Safety (green & black vinyl edition) ... LP
Enigma/Real Gone, 1983. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... $26.99 27.99
A real classic from 45 Grave – and a set that definitely lives up to the spooky image on the cover – a mix of punk and older monster movie modes that made the group a key part of the horror rock scene of the time! These guys blend an LA aesthetic with some twangier elements that evoke a bit of The Cramps at times – and lead singer Dinah Cancer has a screechy wail that really sets the tone for the tunes! Titles include "Partytime", "Surf Bat", "Slice O Life", "Dream Hits II", "Evil", "Phantoms", and "Insurance From God". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition of 450 – on green & black marble vinyl!)

Andrzej KorzynskiPossession ... LP
Finders Keepers (UK), 1981. New Copy ... $22.99
Amazing sounds from Polish composer Andrzej Korzynski – penned for a legendary horror film from the early 80s! The movie goes way beyond typical grit and gore – with a surreal bent that's made it the stuff of much discussion over the years – and Korzynski's music definitely lives up to the spirit of the images on the screen – mixing 80s electronics with offbeat strings, odd percussion, and other compelling bits – often used in very short songs that shift often throughout the course of the album – easily making the record one of the most playful we've ever heard from Finders Keepers – yet also one of the darkest too! A few sweet keyboard melodies offset some of the spookiness in a nice way – and titles include "Helen Has Green Eyes", "Opetanie 1", "The Night The Screaming Stops", "Blue Ford B AZ6", "Heinrick's Demise", "Mark Looks In The Fridge", "What Is It", and "Closely Observed Anna". Patty PravoPatty Pravo (yellow vinyl pressing) (2020 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
RCA (Italy), 1970. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... $29.99
Patty Pravo looks a bit creepy on the cover, but the images inside make her look really lovely – and the sound of the record lies somewhere in between! The album's in the territory of offbeat late 60s work by Rita Lee or Brigitte Fontaine – equally distinct, and a strong statement from a singer who could have stuck in the mainstream, but chose to explore lots of unusual territory on these tunes – a mix of modes that runs from dreamy to groovy to downright spooky – with some nice help on arrangements from Paolo Ormi. The songs include many familiar numbers, transformed in the approach – and titles include "The Day That My Love Went Away", "Per Te", "La Tua Voce", "Motherless Child", "Il Mio Fiore Nero", "Non Je Ne Regrette Rien", "Perche Sei Il Mio Uomo", and "Una Conchiglia". Psychedelic Sex KicksPsychedelic Sex Kicks – Original Soundtrack (white vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD) ... LP
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1967. New Copy ... $23.99 24.99
Groovy sounds for a somewhat creepy film – an obscure 1967 exploitation documentary about the underground hippie sex scene in San Francisco! The record is almost like a mini-movie in sound – in that it features a narrator describing various scenes in the city's underground, while backed by music that features tabla and sitar, all setting a very psychedelic backdrop! The narration is often upfront and no-nonsense – definitely designed to shock, but also not judging the scene at all – and there's some occasional sound effects, and grunts and groans from the folks onscreen. And if that's not enough, the package also comes with a DVD of the entire film – a very rare b-movie relic that was thought to be lost forever! Titles include "Lysergic Sitar Delusions", "Sitar Sit Ra", "Uptight & Hungup", "LSD The Last Plateau", "A Thin Pad", and "Universe Me Now". (Soundtracks, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(Pressed on white vinyl and includes a bonus DVD of the entire movie!)

Guy SkornikTusk ... LP
Finders Keepers (UK), 1979. New Copy ... $16.99
Really beautiful electronics from the enigmatic Guy Skornik – an artist that we mostly know for his quirky concept record Pour Pauwels, but who sounds here like some of the best electronicians of the German scene of the 70s! All tracks are long and spun out – electronic, but with acoustic elements in the mix – maybe in a mode that's similar to the 70s soundtrack creations of Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, or Vangelis – but darker, too – most likely because the music was composed for an obscure film by Alexander Jodorowsky! Yet the music here hardly needs images on a screen – as Skornik's created these wonderfully evocative passages, created with some help from Steve Hillage and members of Cossi Anatz. Titles include "Elise & Tusk Reunited", "Poo Lorn 1", "Elise Liberates Tusk", "Poo Lorn 2", "Goodnight Ram Baba", "Elise On The Run", and "Crossing The River". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Ken Kesey/Grateful DeadAcid Test (yellow vinyl pressing) ... LP
Jackpot, 1966. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A fantastic 60s happening committed to record – one of the famous "acid tests" by Ken Kesey – recorded over the span of 14 hours, and condensed to the space of a single album – featuring early work by The Grateful Dead, plus tape loops, harmonica solos, and lots of weird wordplay too! This is the kind of thing that had us scared to death of west coast hippies when we were kids – and for good reason, too – as the album really shows the depths of the mind when exposed like this – and almost has us thinking that despite any outdated aesthetics of the period, there's kind of a creepy power of magick lurking far below. ✨✧ MunstersMunsters – Inspired By The TV Characters The Munsters (orange & black vinyl pressing) ... LP
Decca/Real Gone, 1964. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A very cool little record from the 60s – even if it does try to trick you into thinking that Herman Munster and his family are making music on the set! Instead, the Munsters here are a bunch of top shelf studio musicians, working with a trio of singers – in a mix of tunes that really echo the best surf and hot rod styles of the time! Songs are plenty playful, and definitely have lots of the best monster rock elements that were big at the time – even if there's maybe a bit more sunshine in the sound than some of the other albums of this nature. Three tracks are instrumental, the rest are vocal, and titles include "Vampire Vamp", "Herman's Place", "Munster Creep", "Eerie Beach", "TV Monster Show", "Down In The Basement", "Munster Coach", and "Ride The Midnight Special". ✨✧ Velvet UndergroundWhite Light/White Heat (45th Anniversary 2LP on 180 gram vinyl) ... LP
Verve, 1968. New Copy 2 LP Gatefold (reissue)... Out Of Stock
One of the most far-out, freaked-out albums ever from the Velvet Underground – easily the most experimental set the group ever recorded! The album's awash in really unusual sounds and styles – from the sonic blast of the title cut "White Light/White Heat", to the 17 minute garage/psych jam of "Sister Ray" to the very odd "The Gift" – which is a creepy story about cuckolding, told with voice and instrumentation split over different stereo channels! Other tunes offset the darkness with an eerie touch of sweet – and include "Here She Comes Now", "Lady Godiva's Operation", and "I Heard Her Call My Name". Arguably one of the Velvets' most influential moments – even if it's also one of their least commercially successful! This great 2LP package features loads of sweet extra bits – including "I Heard Her Call My Name (alternate)", "Hey Mr Rain (version one)", "Temptation Inside Your Heart (original mix)", "Stephanie Says (orig mix)", "Beginning To See The Light (early version)", "Hey Mr Rain (version two)", and "Guess I'm Falling In Love (instrumental)". ✨✧ Hiroshi YoshimuraGreen (colored vinyl pressing) ... LP
Air/Light In The Attic, 1986. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A great mixture of organic ideas and electric sounds from Japanese pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura – a set that follows the cycle of "green" through a progression of really lovely little instrumentals – somewhere between the minimalist experiments of Brian Eno in the late 70s, and some of the other Japanese electronic music of the time – but with this special quality that really makes the album a cut above the rest! The overall style is a bit hard to peg – this isn't electronic rock or computer pop, but it's also not highbrow minimalism better – a really special set of sounds on titles that include "Sleep", "Sheep", "Creek", "Feel", "Green", and "Teevee". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition colored vinyl pressing!)

Crestview/Real Gone, 1963. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A classic album by one of the coolest cats to ever record a Halloween record – Philly TV figure John Zacherley, whose recorded career consists almost entirely of horror parody material! Zach's got a strong ability to emulate the kind of creepy figures in older horror films of the 30s and 40s – focusing mostly on their goofier sides, which are then used to present the album's whimsical horror-themed numbers, all set to jazzy backings by Gerald Alters! Imagine Bela Lugosi performing his different characters on a jazz vocal album, and you'll get part of the flavor of this classic – which includes the titles "Baying At The Moon", "Transylvania PTA", "Frank & Drac Are Back", "Coolest Little Monster", "Come With Me To Transylvania", and "Spider Man Lullaby". ✨✧ Black SabbathParanoid (180 gram pressing) ... LP
Nems/Warner, 1971. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Quite possibly the greatest moment of genius ever from Black Sabbath – and a genre-changing record that influenced generations! The group are at their lean, raw best here – free from any cliches at all, and working in an incredibly heady brew of fuzzy guitar, romping bass, and dark drums – all topped by the instantly recognizable screech of the young Ozzy Osborne! Guitarist Tony Iommi virtually redefines rock use of the guitar with this record alone – and the Oz follows suit with some of the creepiest vocals set to record ever. Titles include the classics "Paranoid" and "Iron Man", plus "War Pigs", "Planet Caravan", "Electric Funeral", "Hand Of Doom", and "Rat Salad". LP, Vinyl record album

Teichiku (Japan), 1971. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A really unusual record from early 70s Japan – one that features vocals from erotic actress Reiko Ike – done in a mode that's very similar to her sexy appearances on screen! And in fact, when we say "vocals", maybe "vocalizations" should be more the case – as many of these tracks are sexy grunts, groans, and exclamations – mixed with a bit of more conventional singing – set to instrumentation that's groovy and jazzy, and which has some nice soundtrack modes in the styles – all almost like an audio equivalent of softcore porn, with a quality that's enough to make Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin blush! (Vocalists, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Michael OostenMichael Oosten (180 gram pressing) ... LP
Lion, 1973. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
One of the most hypnotic folk albums we've ever heard – far from any sort of conventional folk of the 60s, and more in a moody style of 70s singer-songwriter material from the underground – yet graced with these acoustic guitar lines that ebb and flow wonderfully – creating a circular feel alongside the vocals, with the same sort of energy we might find in the work of Sandy Bull! Michael Oosten's music is more lyric-based, but even his smart words know the right points to give way to the guitar – and let its elliptical lines flow forth and really bring the tunes home. The original album's a real Midwestern obscurity – but it's the sort that also should have gotten much wider circulation at the time, due to the quality of the music. Titles include "Hey Babe", "Garden", "Sunny Day", "Wave Faring Boy", and "Hungry Horse Montana". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited to 500 – with a heavy cover and great booklet too. Hand silk-screened jackets, using the original screens!)
