Chris MontezWatch What Happens ... LP
A&M, 1969. Near Mint- ... $24.99
Heavenly dreamy pop – and one of our favorite A&M albums by the legendary Chris Montez! Chris was unlike any other 60s singer we can think of – an artist who was at once pop, but also had a unique depth too – despite a lightly floating voice that was really unique! The great Nick DeCaro arranged and produced – giving the whole record a breezy, bouncy sparkle that's completely sublime – one of those rare totally-perfect meetings of talents in the music industry that would never have the artist sounding as great otherwise. Titles include "The Face I Love" (a great Marcos Valle song!), "Nothing To Hide", "Spooky", "Where Are You Now", "Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars", and "Look Of Love". (Vocalists, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(White label stereo promo. Cover has light wear, masking tape holding the top seam, CSG Process sticker, remnants from a promo sticker, some marker at the top left, and is bumped at the bottom corners.)

✨✧ Chris MontezCall Me – The A&M Years ... CD
A&M/Universal (UK), Late 60s. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Easygoing 60s pop groovers from the inimitable Chris Montez – the best and brightest numbers from his A&M years! Chris in his prime years sang with a naive charm that's pretty much irresistible – crooning in his baby smooth voice over surprisingly rich production – with lots of vibes and light horn arrangements that no doubt helped pave the way for the lounge pop to come! 22 tracks in all: "Call Me", "The More I See You", "Foolin' Around", "The Very Thought Of You", "Time After Time", "There Will Never Be Another You", "Our Day Will Come", "The Face I Love", "Elena", "Keep Talkin", "I Will Wait For You", "Just Friends", "Little White Lies", "I'm Glad There Is You (In This World Of Ordinary People)", "End Of A Love Affair" and more. (Vocalists, Rock) CD
(Out of print.)

✨✧ Chris MontezFoolin Around ... LP
A&M, Late 60s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Sublime pop vocals from Chris Montez – recorded in that light and dreamy mode that makes his A&M records so great! Arrangements are a mix of light jazz and easy – set to a syncopated groove that's simple, sprightly, and never cloying – a style that borrows a fair bit from the inspiration of bossa nova, but gives it a uniquely 60s LA twist. Both Nick DeCaro and Herb Alpert worked on the sessions – and titles include the great single "Foolin Around", plus "Girl Talk", "Because Of You", "I'm Glad There Is You", "Dindi", "Once In Awhile", and "The End Of A Love Affair". ✨✧ We FiveYou Were On My Mind ... LP
A&M, 1965. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A pivotal 60s album in the shift from folk-rock to Sunshine Pop – and a standout gem from the early years of A&M Records! We Five are a group with a really groovy feel – a warm blend of male harmonies and one female voice – all in a style that, a few years earlier, might have been pointed towards more folksy material – but which here really takes off in a soaring sound that's completely sublime! The group have a nicely straight laced look on the front – matched by some of the material they've chosen – some older standards that get "groovied up" by the album – almost the same sort of transformation that Chris Montez was doing to older songs with his A&M work, but in a much more harmonic style by these guys! The set includes the amazing hit single "You Were On My Mind", plus I Got Plenty O Nuttin", "Softly As I Leave You", "Love Me Not Tomorrow", "Somewhere Beyond The Sea", and "Cast Your Fate To The Wind". LP, Vinyl record album
