✨✧ BeatlesAbbey Road ... LP
Apple, 1969. Sealed ... Out Of Stock
Pure brilliance from start to finish – especially the second side of the record, which has a continuous run of tunes that's very unique – and still completely sublime all these many years later! The album shows the fracturing ideas of the group, but crafted together with a unity you won't find on The White Album or Let It Be – still a way of making it all gel together beautifully, as the fab four stretch their wings to find new ways of being. Added instrumentation is used wonderfully – never overdone, but with orchestral passages that can really hammer home the best musical moments – and titles include "I Want You", "Because", "You Never Give Me Your Money", "Golden Slumbers", "The End", "Her Majesty", "Polythene Pam", and "Sun King". LP, Vinyl record album
(Mid 90s limited reissue – C1-46446 – still sealed with black "limited edition" sticker.)

✨✧ BeatlesRubber Soul ... LP
Capitol, 1965. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A landmark leaping-off point for The Beatles – and a record that really paved the way for countless new ideas to come! The mix of catchy pop and freer ideas here is really wonderful – tunes that introduce a whole new mature world in mainstream music – yet manage to have all the catchy complexity of the earlier years too. Production, songwriting, and delivery is superb – and titles include "Norwegian Wood", "Think For Yourself", "The Word", "Girl", "I'm Looking Through You", and "Run For Your Life"". LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono 180 gram reissue from 2014 in a flip-back cover.)

Captain BeefheartSpotlight Kid ... LP
Reprise, 1972. Very Good+ ... $19.99
An early 70s gem from Captain Beefheart – not as wild-eyed and whacked out as the late 60s glories – but still a good stretch weirder than most of the post psych, blues-steeped rock of the time! Ultimately, it's still Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, despite it being billed solely to Captain Beefheart on the cover (and his only album NOT co-billed with The Magic Band) – and we'd say it's their first album to go for a consistent mood from beginning-to-end, and we love it for that! If the Trout Mask Replica and Lick My Decals Off Baby records are the more feral early twin masterpieces – we'd say this one and Clear Spot are the wiser and more focused siblings, but no less classic! Tracks include "I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby","Grow Fins", "There Ain't No Santa Clause On The Evenin' Stage", "Blabbern Smoke", "Alice In Blunderland", "The Spotlight Kid", and "Glider". LP, Vinyl record album
(Tan label stereo pressing, with Artisan etch. NOTE – Cover has staining and heavy wear on 3 corners with peeled spots, ring wear, top seam splitting – but the vinyl is nice!)

✨✧ GenesisTrick Of The Tail ... LP
Atco, 1976. Near Mint- Gatefold ... $13.99
Life after Peter Gabriel – with Phil Collins doing a surprisingly great job on vocals – free from all the tripe of later years! The group are still very much in the mode of their early prog years, but balance things out with a few catchier tunes – a mode that's a bit like the Selling England By The Pound album, sans Gabriel. Collins is learning how to express himself soulfully, but not in a commercial way – and the few off moments are more than balanced with some wonderfully tight instrumental work – on tracks that include "Dance On A Volcano", "Robbery Assault & Battery", "Ripples", "Trick Of The Tail", and "Mad Man Moon". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original 75 Rockefeller label pressing.)

Liquid LiquidLiquid Liquid EP ... LP
99 Records, Early 80s. Near Mint- ... $29.99
A groundbreaking little record – and one that's hardly ever been matched again! Liquid Liquid sprang onto the scene with this amazing debut EP for 99 Records – a set that's got a wicked blend of funky drums, post-punk darkness, and this cool criss-crossing of modes that perfectly sums up the genius of the New York scene at the time! The record features lots of percussion throughout – drums, roto toms, congas, and plenty more – mixed with these brooding basslines that remind us of Jah Wobble at his best, and echoey production that almost feels like an American take on Martin Hannett at his best – especially at those moments when weird, eerie vocals drift through the instrumentation, barely at the edge of hearing. Titles include the classic "Bellhead" – plus "Groupmegroup", "Rubbermiro", "Lub Dupe", and "New Walk". (Soul, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(2015 reissue on Superior Viaduct.)

✨✧ Moby GrapeTruly Fine Citizen ... LP
Columbia, 1969. Near Mint- ... $39.99
A truly fine Moby Grape effort from the tail end of the 60s – featuring loads of rubbery rock grooves – and one of the more songwriting centered efforts from the Grape catalog! Moby Grape was pared down to a trio by the time of Truly Fine Citizen – and the tracks are just loose enough around the edges, with some meandering harmonies and an insistent bass groove throughout. Title include the totally groovy opener "Changes, Circles Spinning", plus "Looper", "Truly Fine Citizen", "Beautiful Is Beautiful", "Love Song", "Right Before My Eyes", "Now I Know High", "Tongue-Tied" and "Love Song, Part Two". LP, Vinyl record album
(360 Sound stereo pressing – 1A/1A. Includes the Columbia inner sleeve. Cover has light wear and a cut corner.)

Mike OldfieldTubular Bells ... LP
Virgin/Epic, 1973. Very Good ... $7.99
Easily one of the most successful albums of the British jazz rock years – but still a longtime favorite of ours as well! Mike Oldfield sets a whole new standard here for concept rock – not only by working on a single album-length composition that spans all of sides one and two, but also by playing all instruments himself – in a one man symphony of sound that's pretty darn great! The main theme of the piece will be recognizable from it's stripped-down use in The Exorcist – but we really love Oldfield's expansion on it here in a range of different overdubbed instruments, which are also sometimes processed – and then introduced by Mike in a spoken part that's one of the highlights of the album. LP, Vinyl record album
(French pressing in a laminated cover with a hype sticker.)

T-BonesBoss Drag ... LP
Liberty, Mid 1960s. Near Mint- ... $24.99 28.99
Raucous drag strip rockers and driving R&B-fueled instrumentals by The T-Bones – killer material on Liberty from a group of young session wizards – including Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Dave Pell, Steve Douglas and others! It's wildly fun stuff that goes all in with the drag strip novelty – but totally transcends it – with some rubber-burning, rumbling excellence! Killer guitars, sax, organ drums from a one-time relatively anonymous cast of players. Includes "Hey Little Cobra", "Shut Down", "Drag City", "Draggin'", "Scorchin", "Little Deuce Coupe", "Boss Drag" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Original stereo pressing! Cover has some very light wear near the bottom, but this is a great copy.)

✨✧ Joan ArmatradingWalk Under Ladders ... LP
A&M, 1981. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Early 80s synthy soul and new wave sounds from Joan Armatrading – really taking her earlier, kind of folk soul based sound confidently into the early 80s keyboard heavy grooves with some pronounced Caribbean flourishes! Lots of punchy rhythms and neon bright 80s sounds, but it's the songs that transcend here – the tunes are always insistent, and Joan's voice is as warm and inviting as ever. Titles include "At The Hop", "I Wanna Hold You", "I'm Lucky", "The Weakness In Me", "No Love", "Romancers", "Ican't Lie To Myself", "Only One" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve.)

✨✧ BeatlesYesterday & Today ... LP
Capitol, 1966. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A great American-only album from the Rubber Soul generation – the last one made specifically for the US market because of the different release patterns in the US and UK – with a number of their greatest songs of the period! Features a bunch of classics, and it ultimately holds together better creatively than some of their other US-only LP – but it also encapsulates a fascinating period in Beatles history, summing up end months of their middle period, very soon to segue into more psychedelic territory. Includes "Nowhere Man", "Drive My Car", "Dr Robert", "Act Naturally", "Day Tripper", "And Your Bird Can Sing", and "If I Needed Someone". LP, Vinyl record album
(Late 70s purple label pressing in a Gold Record Award cover.)

✨✧ DionSit Down Old Friend ... LP
Warner, 1970. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Dion in a world inspired by Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, and Tim Hardin – working alone with overdubbed guitar parts, in a jazzy/folksy mood that's incredibly arresting! LP, Vinyl record album
(Green W7 label stereo pressing. Cover has a cut corner, some ringwear, heavy edge wear, half split top seam, and a small pinhole in each corner.)
