Elektra, 1982. Used ... Out Of Stock
A great second chapter set from Steel Pulse – a record that marks their first effort away from Island Records, and a sound that's maybe got them reaching for even more global fame overall! There's a spirit here that's very much like the best Island material by other artists of the previous decade – wisdom and knowledge, but served up with a slinkily soulful vibe – and not overly commercial at all, given that the group put the record together themselves, and were hardly reaching for the charts – yet really gave themselves a strong footing to move forward with the album. Titles include "Worth His Weight In Gold", "Ravers", "Leggo Beast", "Blues Dance Raid", "Man No Sober", "Your House", "A Who Responsible", and "Chant A Psalm". CD
