Righteous sounds from Ras Michael and The Sons Of Negus – easily one of the most powerful groups of the rastafari years in reggae! The album's got a very deep feel right from the start – not just because the lyrics and vocals are very powerful, but also because the group features a strong ensemble of nyabinghi drummers, who help take the music back to pre-reggae roots with their performance – which is mixed here with more familiar basslines and guitar that mark the mid 70s recording of the tunes.
