✨✧ Prince Far ICry Tuff Chants On U – Prince Far I At On-U Sound (with download) (2024 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
On-U Sound (UK), Early 1980s. New Copy 2LP ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Prince Far I issued a number of classic Cry Tuff albums on the On-U Sound label back in the 80s, all under his own name – but this similarly-titled set brings together tracks the legendary Jamaican MC did with other acts on the label – including Singers & Players and Creation Rebel! Prince Far I was taken from the planet in the early 80s – too soon to see the success of his work with Adrian Sherwood and the label – and this set stands as another tribute to their brief moment of genius, with cuts that include "91 Vibration", "Autobiography", "Calling Over The Distant Sea", "Nuclear Weapon", "Dreadlock Soldier", "Prodigal Son", "In I Father's House", "Quante Jubila", and "Beware The Flying Predator". ✨✧ Various300% Dynamite! – Ska, Soul, Rocksteady, Funk, & Dub In Jamaica (yellow vinyl pressing – with download) (2024 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Soul Jazz (UK), Mid 1960s-Mid 1970s. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Incredible! This is quite possibly the best of this legendary series of Jamaican soul, funk, and reggae tracks – and it's a masterpiece! The track selection is amazing, and the set has a bit more crackle than earlier volumes – with loads of great 70s production, including nice dubby bits, and some excellent instrumentation. Titles include "Mission Impossible" by Randy's Allstars, "Make It Reggae" by Shark Wilson & The Basement Heaters, "Rebel Soldiering" by Johnny Clarke, "Jungle Lion" by Lee Perry, "Take It Easy" by Hopeton Lewis, "Jackie's Theme" by Jackie Mittoo & Randy's Allstars, "Uptown Top Rankin" by Althea & Donna, "Cincinatti Kid" by Prince Buster, and "Bam Bam" by Sister Nancy. 15 cuts in all – and all great! ✨✧ Max RomeoEvery Man Ought To Know ... LP
Count Shelly/VP (Czech Republic), 1974. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A super-rare set from Max Romeo – material done with Bunny Lee before his better-known late 70s sides for Lee Perry – and music that's maybe even grittier in the grooves overall! There's a raw, early roots vibe going on here – although some of the song themes are maybe more personal than political, yet woven together strongly to make a great document of the sort of contributions that Romeo could bring to the music. Titles include "Rent Crisis", "Pussy Watch Man", "Walking Along", "Life Is Beautiful", "Two Face People", "Every Man Ought To Know", "Man In Your Life", and a surprisingly great version of "I Woke Up In Love This Morning". LP, Vinyl record album
