Groovy 50s work from Nelson Riddle – instrumental tracks recorded during the same stretch when he was winning great fame as
Frank Sinatra's arranger! The style here is much more varied than Riddle's work for
Sinatra – a range of instrumental modes that varies from gentle mood music, to more upbeat and playful tunes, to some especially great numbers that have a slightly exotic feel. Instrumentation is also more varied than Riddle's vocal backings – not as out there as some of his Capitol contemporaries in the easy department, but still pretty inventive overall. CD features 26 tracks in all – including – "Loveletters", "Vilia", "Vera Cruz", "Deep Blue Sea", "Drive In", "Brother John", "Shadow Waltz", "Pore Jud Is Daid", "Robin Hood", "Port Au Prince", "Midnight Blues", "The Love Of Genevieve", "Farmer's Tango", and "Holiday In Naples".
