Ed Longo plays plenty of keyboards here – and serves up cuts that move effortlessly between boogie-oriented grooves and more laidback numbers – so that the set's got a nice balance of mellow moments and groovers! Other instrumentation includes saxes, Fender Rhodes, flute, and guitar – and there's vocals on just one cut, but most of the the record is instrumental, and has a late 70s/early 80s production approach that keeps things warm and soulful, but never slick or commercial.
