Kind of a folksy looking cover, but a warm and wonderfully soulful little record – a side project by the lead vocalist of The Rurals – recording here in a sound that's very much like their own work! The grooves have a really warm sort of flow throughout – sometimes a bit more mellow than the more dancefloor-oriented styles of The Rurals, but always done with a similar sense of depth and love of older soul modes. The production's great – spare, stripped down, and with a really clear approach – nothing too broken or remixed, and filled with some really great keyboards alongside the vocals.
