Stan Kenton plays Chicago – and a bit of BloodSweat & Tears as well – taking all the best energy from the young jazz rock generation, and turning it towards the sound of his orchestra for the 70s! There's some totally kicking rhythms here – thanks to the mighty Peter Erskine on drums and Mike Ross on electric bass – both of whom really help open up the tunes right from the start, and give the horn players plenty of energy to soar nicely! There's some added percussion from Ramon Lopez, and Kenton plays piano – but often stays a bit more in the background, to let the younger players groove over the top – on titles that include "First Child", "The Rise & Fall Of A Short Fugue", "Chicago III Suite", and "From BloodSweat & Tears".
