Probably the biggest record ever by this sweeeet Chicago soul group! "I Do" was later ruined by a bad cover by J Geils – but this early version is a killer, with soaring harmonies that really make the track groove! "My Heart" is great too – a mellow number, with some great late nite harmonies that dip and turn. 7-inch, Vinyl record
(In an ABC Paramount sleeve. Label has some marker.)
A beautiful contemporary bit of sweet soul – a tune that dips and swells in a mighty nice way, with a slow funk groove at the bottom, and these heartbreaking vocals from Marietta Smithover the top! "Suns Of Marvin" is faster and funkier, and instrumental – with a great drum/bass/riffing guitar line that feels like some rare funky 45 from back in the day – right down to the gritty production that really sends things over the top! Nice vibes solo in the middle, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record
A great remake of one of the biggest cuts ever from the legendary Roy Ayers – done here with a version that's got even more vibes than the original! In fact, the core groove is very much like the Ayers recording, but the cut soon moves into loads of jazzy vibes – and also has a great bass breakdown in the middle! The flipside takes out the initial burst vibes, but keeps all the grooves intact – and brings in some sweet jazzy keyboard work from Diplomats Of Soul, then brings back in the vibes! 7-inch, Vinyl record
