Classic stuff – as Aretha's version of the Ashford & Simpson hit "You're All I Need" is augmented with lovely strings and large arrangements by Arif Mardin, very much in the style that Aretha was moving into after her first few sessions with Atlantic. "Pullin" is a bit harder, and has a nice hook! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(In an Atlantic sleeve, with a small rip. Includes jukebox strips!)
One of her coolest records from the 70's. Her version of "Moody's Mood" is more than enough proof that she's got great jazz chops, and "Master Of Eyes" is a nice dark soul track. Quincy Jones arranged and produced, and he brings a lot to Aretha's style. 7-inch, Vinyl record
2 early soul sides by the woman who later went on to marry Lester Bowie, and sing jazz vocals with the Art Ensemble Of Chicago. Both tracks have Fontella's raw hard soul sound firmly in place, with the kind of groove that was stolen from her to bigger fame by ArethaFranklin. 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Blue label pressing. A-side label has light wear.)
