✨✧ Barry StollerFunky Spider/Cool Character ... 7-inch
De Wolfe/Dynamite Cuts (UK), 1971. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A fully and funky spider from the De Wolfe sound library of the 70s – one that's got all sorts of heavy horns and tight drums, and packs a punch that would be sure to tear open a spiderweb in seconds! That same approach is used on the flipside – a hot-moving cut that's definitely not a cool character – as the whole thing moves along at the pace of some cop/crime chase cut, complete with driving drums and funky horns! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(NOTE – vinyl is pressed off center and plays with a light side to side on the tonearm.)

✨✧ Barry StollerDesign/Long Weekend ... 7-inch
De Wolfe/Dynamite Cuts (UK), 1972. New Copy (pic cover)... Out Of Stock
Two killer cuts from one of the unsung talents of the De Wolfe sound library of the 70s! "Design" has this really cool bongo line that kicks hard throughout the cut – while riffing guitar and just the right touch of some other electric string instrument create a mighty nice groove! "Long Weekend" is even fuller and funkier – and has this offbeat electric keyboard line that's all cool and sprightly next to the heavier groove! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Jay JohnsonOoh Baby (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch
Brunswick, 1973. Very Good+ ... $4.99
Not to be confused with JJ Johnson, Jay Johnson is a deep voiced singer who kicks off this track with a Barry White-styled monologue – seducing a female lover with his words as strings build up behind him, never actually singing, but talking his way through the whole track – leaving things pretty hot n bothered by the end of part 2! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Johnny BristolHang On In There Baby/Take Care Of You For Me ... 7-inch
MGM, 1974. Very Good+ ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A solid killer from Johnny Bristol – one of his classic tracks of the 70s! "Hang On In There Baby" is half Marvin Gaye, half Barry White – with a soaring and righteous groove that's completely sublime. Grabs you from the first minute of the track's mellow groove, and makes you love it even more once Johnny's warm vocals kick in! "Take Care Of You" is mellower and a bit romantic, but still quite nice. Both tracks arranged by HB Barnum. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Jesse JamesIf You Want A Love Affair/I Never Meant To Love Her ... 7-inch
20th Century, 1975. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A totally excellent single by one of our favorite overlooked soul singers! "If You Want" starts out with some amazing echoey guitar picked passages – ala early 70s Barry White (in fact, they sound like they were lifted from the Gloria Scott album!) Then, Jesse comes in on a monologue, and next leaps into the song's tasty catchy hook. Arrangments by HB Barnum, who also had a hand in writing the cut. And this wasn't on an album, was it? 7-inch, Vinyl record
