FannyCharity Ball (red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Reprise/Real Gone, 1971. New Copy (reissue)... $26.99 28.99
A hard-rocking classic from Fanny – the group's second album, and the one that put the all-female quartet on the map! At some level, there's not that much going on here that's different than some of their contemporaries – but the records's got a lean, playful energy that really comes through when the vocals unite – which they do often in most of the best parts! Titles include the mini-hit "Charity Ball", plus "Cat Fever", "Soul Child", "Place In The Country", "What's Wrong With Me", "Special Care", "Person Like You", and "You're The One". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition "Ruby" red vinyl pressing!)

FannyFanny Hill (clear vinyl pressing) ... LP
Reprise/Real Gone, 1972. New Copy (reissue)... $26.99 28.99
Fanny have a slightly more ambitious vibe here than on some of their previous albums – in part because the set was recorded at the Apple Studios in London, with production by Richard Perry – who really does a great job of elevating all the elements the group had on their previous records! The vocal interplay is even more complex and compelling than before, and there's some larger arrangements that almost seem to echo the best use of such modes by the late Beatles – as does the group's great reworking of their "Hey Bulldog". Other titles include "Blind Alley", "You've Got A Home", "Borrowed Time", "Think About The Children", "Rock Bottom Blues", "Sound & The Fury", and "The First Time". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition "Milky Clear" vinyl pressing.)

✨✧ Os DiagonaisOs Diagonais (1971) ... CD
BMG (Brazil), 1971. Used ... $14.99
A groovy little Brazilian pop group – with touches of soul, bossa, and funk in the mix! The album is the group's second – and it's got some very nice tracks that were arranged by Waltel Branco, done in that mixture of 60s grooves and early 70s funky pop that's the hallmark of our favorite artists of the Blue Brazil generation. Lyrics are in Portuguese – but there's an expansive approach here that's all global, similar to the mindblowing work of Marcos Valle from the same time. Titles include "Nem Adeus", "Eliana", "Todo Meu Amor", "Sai De Lado", "Tema De Fanny", "O Mal Passara", and "Cada Um Na Sua". CD reissue also includes 2 bonus tracks – "Lana" and "Voce Fingiu"! CD
(Out of print, 2001 pressing.)

VariousLux & Ivy Say Flip Your Top – Sinners & Penguins Doing The San Francisco Twist ... CD
Righteous (UK), Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy 2CD ... $14.99 20.99
One of the coolest collections to ever bear the name of Lux and Ivy in the title – a really great genre-busting collection of odd, offbeat, and unusual tracks from the vintage 45 underground – very much served up in the mix of modes the duo explored in The Cramps! There's a real love of the 7" single that informs the collection – that special sense of surprise and anticipation when dropping the needle on a vintage 45 – delivered nicely here as the package steps through a whopping 50 tracks over the course of 2CDs! Titles include "Kiss Me Goodnight" by Tony Castle, "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby" by Pat Hare, "The Chinese Rock N Roll" by The Flock Rocker, Annie Miss Fanny" by Mel Dorsey, "Story Of Susie" by Billy Woods with Kim Fowley, "Frustration" by The Zanies, "Too Big For Her Bikini" by Gerry Granahan, "Fallout Filly" by Chris Cerf & The Harvard Lampoon Tabernacle Choir, "No More" by The Uptones, "Tarzan" by Artie Wilson, "Zimba Lulu" by The Rays, "You Tarzan Me Jane" by Glenn Willings, "Choo Choo Train" by Ritchie Hart, "Little Lil" by Mel Dorsey & the Heartbeats, "Fallout" by Aston Martin & The Moon Discs, "Kalani Honey" by John Paul Jones, "The Switch" by Slim Marbles, "Miss Froggie" by Warren Smith, and lots lots more! ✨✧ VariousStudio Wizardry Of Todd Rundgren ... CD
Ace (UK), 1970s/Early 80s. New Copy ... $14.99 22.99
Todd Rundgren's known to most as a hell of a songwriter, and a singer with surprising charms – but he's also a genius in the studio, with talents that were first demonstrated on all of his early self-produced classics – then shared with some key acts in the 70s and 80s! As with his own music, Rundgren really has a way with making a tune come together – a special ear for getting everything to sound right, but at a level that's simple and understated – so that all the best qualities of a song come out perfectly, but without making you feel like you're being hit over the head by the process behind the music! That quality is on great display here – in a set of 22 numbers that feature Rundgren at the helm, with details that are extrapolated more fully in the detailed notes within – but which come through loud and clear on tunes that include "Baby Blue" by Badfinger, "Long Times Gone" by Felix Cavaliere, "You're Much Too Soon" by Hall & Oates, "Frederick" by Patti Smith, Heaven's Falling" by Cheap Trick, "Jet Boy" by New York Dolls, "One Night Stand" by Janis Joplin, "L5" by New England, "We're An American Band" by Grand Funk Railroad, "Dear God" by XTC, "Something Warm" by Rick Derringer, "Long Road Home" by Fanny, "Fa La Fa Lee" by Sparks, "Piece By Piece" by The Tubes, "Love Is The Answer" by Utopia, "Goodbye" by The Psychedelic Furs, and "She's So Young" by The Pursuit Of Happiness. Sundazed, 1960s. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Wow! A definitive compilation of buzzing, raw and catchy rock & roll from Oscar & The Majestics – the overlooked USA Records sides and even rarer material the group pressed themselves on this excellent set put together by Sundazed! They work just as well with pulpy pop knockoffs and covers as they do on raucous instrumentals – and their searing guitar sound is killer! Includes "Got To Have Your Lovin'", "Soulfinger", "I Can't Explain", "Jackie Jackie", "I Feel Good", "Top Eliminator", "Fanny Brown", "Dawn" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
