✨✧ NewsoundBet You Never Thought About It/Just One Time (Scorpion) ... 7-inch
Scorpion, 1974. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Harmony soul from the Chicago 70s underground – 2 nice tracks from the Newsounds, who may or may not be the same group that recorded for All Platinum around the same time. "Bet You Never Thought About It" is a nicely stepping tune with a bubbling Chicago soul groove – and "Just One Time" is sadder and sweeter, a nice mellow track. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Marvin SmithI Want (Something To Remember You By)/Love Ain't Nothing But Pain ... 7-inch
Brunswick, 1967. Very Good+ ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Dang, is this great Chicago soul! We don't know much about Marvin other than the odd single here and there, but it's gems like these that will keep us looking for his work. Both sides are wonderful – loping along in a Carl Davis groove, with vocals that are as great as any from the time by Gene Chandler or Jerry Butler! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Soul ClanSoul Meeting/That's How It Feels ... 7-inch
Atlantic, Late 60s. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Incredibly memorable stuff – and one of the greatest moments in Atlantic soul history! The Soul Clan is an assemblage of Atlantic's biggest male singers at the time – Joe Tex, Ben E King, Don Covay, Arthur Conley, and Solomon Burke – and the team trade lines back and forth in this perhaps first-ever "supergroup" recording! "Soul Meeting" is a party cut, with all the singers talking about how they have to go somewhere and break up their meeting. "That's How It Feels" is a mellower tune, sung together as a harmony track – with the voices coming together on the chorus passages, and breaking out beautifully on the other parts. Great stuff – and even though Atlantic did release a Soul Clan LP, these were the only 2 original cuts on the record! 7-inch, Vinyl record
