Blue-eyed funk from Kokomo – and a record that's got a surprisingly funky feel, despite it's slightly trippy cover! The group mix warm vocals with tighter grooves on the bottom – almost an Average White Band sort of feel at times, but maybe a bit more crossover on the sweeter tracks – but in a nice way! Production is relatively laidback, and instrumentation includes sweet flute from Mel Collins, plus a bit of Arp – on tracks that include an extended cover of Bobby Womack's "I Can Understand It", plus "Angel", "Kitty Sittin Pretty", "Forever", and "I'm Sorry Babe". Barry & Glodean
CBS, 1981. Very Good-
A later set from Barry – recorded at the beginning of the 80s with his wife Glodean! The album has Barry and Glodean singing together in a set of smooth modern soul duets – slightly different than his solo work, but with a subdued edge that's still very strongly in the Barry/Love ... Sweat Band
Uncle Jam/CBS, 1980. Very Good
A tasty bit of late P-Funk! The album was recorded in 1980, on the wane of the main P-Funk groups – and it features Bootsy and Fred Wesley teaming up on the arrangements, in a set of bass-heavy, mostly instrumental tracks that groove hard like the best early work by Zapp! There's a great ... LP, Vinyl record album

Superbad
Gold City/CBS, 1987. Near Mint-
A wickedly wonderful solo set from Chris Jasper – cut in a mode that's right up there with the best 80s material he did with the Isley Brothers! Jasper's voice sounds surprisingly great in the lead – maybe not as powerful as that of Ernie Isley, but with a sense of individuality that ... LP, Vinyl record album
