2 of Peggy's best albums of the 50s – both Decca sides cut with incredibly strong backing! Black Coffee has Peggy singing with some great late night jazz overtones – moving past the gimmicky hits of the Capitol years, and establishing herself as a sensitive jazz vocalist with a real talent for moody expression. Sea Shells is even more compelling – and has Peggy singing with strange spare backing led by a harp – creating a wispy and sad tone that's quite unique for the time – and which seems to bring out even more blue tones in Peggy's voice than any other album we can remember! The set features 28 tracks in all – with titles that include "Black Coffee", "Easy Living", "Love Me Or Leave Me", "When The World Was Young", "Sea Fever", "The Wearing Of The Green", "A Brown Bird Singing", and "Little Old Car". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
