Sublime sounds from the great Bonnie Guitar – a really unique artist who was part jazz singer, part California country – and very much at home on these rare early singles! Most of the music was recorded in 50s Los Angeles – and has a way of mixing country twang with hipper, more sophisticated styles – always with this great level of production that has a nice current of darkness overall, which brings Bonnie's vocals and guitar together in this harmonic style that's not too far from other 50s great like Les & Mary Paul, or The Chordettes – neither of whom are a direct comparison, but who might make for great listening next to this CD. Many of these tracks haven't seen the light of day since their original issue on 78rpm discs – many of which are pictured in the very thick booklet, which also has lots of notes on the music – and the set features a total of 34 tracks, with titles that include "Hello Hello Please Answer The Phone", "If You See My Love Dancing", "Clinging Vine", "Open The Door To Your Heart", "Heart's Desire", "Please My Love", "Midget Auto Blues", "I Lost My Turkey", and "Don't Keep Me Waitin". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
