A massive overview of the work of team of Brian Holland, Eddie Holland, and Lamont Dozier – a trio whose work had a huge impact on the Motown sound of the 60s and the indie soul years of the 70s! The set does a beautiful job of tracing the trio's evolution – starting with some of the earliest Motown tunes penned by the team (including a fair bit of Eddie's own work as a singer), moving into a range of famous work for bigger groups, and then showing some of the more freely creative work the HDH powerhouse did on 70s labels like Invictus and Hot Wax – and finally finishing up with some solo Lamont Dozier work from later years, and a few odd other cuts done by more mainstream artists.
