Coolin SystemProphet/Dracula ... 7-inch
GED Soul, 2009. New Copy .... $5.99
A killer cover of a Pee Wee Ellis tune – one that's done with some great burning Hammond on the intro, then some tight tight horn work that really sends the tune home! The groove's never too over the top – very much in its own bag, and more than enough to sustain things nicely as the track rolls on with some well-measured solo moments on trumpet and organ! The flipside's a slightly mellower number – Neal Creque's great "Dracula" – taken at a nice mid-step pace, with a great jazz vibe overall! 7-inch, Vinyl record

New Dead MoonCrack In The System ... LP
Mississippi, 1994. New Copy (reissue).... $11.99
A timeless treasure from Dead Moon – a record that could have been made as far back as the late 70s scene in New York, or the mid 80s in the UK, or even in the recent American underground – but which stands as one of the key primal offering from this 90s Portland trio! The music wraps up so many different lost strands of guitar-based influence – garagey bits, punky bits, and folksy bits – all with a style that's never posturing, but almost has the emotional power of early Replacements at their best. Titles include "It's OK", "The Deadline", "Too Far Gone", "Cast Will Change", "Poor Born", and "Two Fell Away". LP, Vinyl record album

The follow up to Herbie's groundbreaking hit album Future Shock. There's some rehashing of themes here, with the remake of "Rockit" called "Hardrock" here – basically the same number with some heavy guitar added and a few different solos – plus similar numbers that continue the electro feel, but also add in a peppering of Bill Laswell's world music interest. The album's worth it alone for the presence of D St on a few tracks – and titles include "Hardrock", "Metal Beat", "Karabali", "Junku", "People Are Changing" and "Sound System". New Coolin SystemCoolin System ... CD
GED Soul, 2011. New Copy .... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Cool jazz funk from The Coolin' System – a group that lays out a funky backdrop, and one that actually generates plenty of heat despite the group's name! Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes, bass, drums and percussion bring the funk, along with a vamping guitar – but what we love about this record is all the measured out space that the group provides from some really sweet solos all around. It adds a late 60s-styled jazz funk vibe that's not easy to pull off, but everyone in this group can play, and they make it seem easy. Players include Mikie Martel on trumpet & flugelhorn, JD Douglas on tenor sax and flute, Pablo Ahogado on Hammond and Rhodes, David Guy on bass, James Bonomo on drums and Andy Wilmoth on percussion. AJ Eason provides guest vocals on "I Need Some Money", but for the most part it's a cool instrumentals set, and titles include "Who's Gonna Take The Weight", "Red Onion", "Sunshine Alley", "Roots", "Sweet Honey Bee", "Nubian Lady", "Smokin' At Tiffany's" and more. New Bob Seger SystemRamblin' Gamblin' Man ... LP
Capitol, 1969. Used .... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Heavy psych from Detroit, in the years before Bob Seger became a "lighters in the air" peddler of redneck theme songs. Cut from the same cloth as the early Mitch Ryder, Amboy Dukes and Grand Funk that were the hallmark of the Motor City rock sound of the day, most of the tracks on this outing are concise rockers, but the band delves into a bit of nice jamminess on side 2. Includes 'Tales Of Lucy Blue", "Ivory", "Gone Down Home", "Train Man", "White Wall", "Black Eyed Girl", "2 + 2 = ?" and "Doctor Fine". LP, Vinyl record album

New Lou Champagne SystemNo Visible Means (180 gram white vinyl pressing – limited, numbered) ... LP
Pterodactyl/Medical, 1983. New Copy (reissue).... Out Of Stock
Nasty electro punk from the enigmatic Lou Champagne – an obscure early 80s effort issue on Lou's own record label, but a killer cooker that would have shook the New York scene up plenty – had Champagne been working in the Big Apple at the time! There's a dark blend of analogue electronics and punkish sensibilities that almost reminds us of Suicide at their best – and the album's certainly a great companion to their classic first album – although at points, Lou's handling of various waveforms is almost even more deft – creating a sinister sensibility that really makes this one hold up strongly over the years! Titles include "Do Something", "Machine Muzik", "Invisible Prisons", "Another Dimension", "Silent Walking", and "Broken Hearts". LP, Vinyl record album

New Ennio MorriconeStark System ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1980. New Copy .... Out Of Stock
Stark sounds from Ennio Morricone – a moody soundtrack from the start of the 80s, and a bit obscure in the Morricone canon – but also a real overlooked gem that's got a feel that's quite different from some of the maestro's bigger work of the time! There's a spare, stepping quality to some of the best tunes here – jagged rhythms that move with weird sonic touches, at a level that's like some of Morricone's coolest thrillers from the early 70s Italian scene – a really surprising return to a style we love so much, especially at a time when Ennio was using larger orchestrations for so many other films. There's a bracing feel to the music that holds on throughout – and titles include "Stark System", "Fantasmi Grotteschi", "Umor Giallo", and other variations. CD also features 8 more bonus tracks as well! CD

New Freedom Sounds featuring Wayne HendersonSoul Sound System ... LP
Atlantic, 1968. Used .... Out Of Stock
The second album by The Freedom Sounds – a very cool west coast soul jazz collective, headed by Wayne Henderson, and featuring a great mix of jazz, soul, and Latin rhythms! This set's a little more ambitious than the group's first album – with a number of tracks that groove in a very strong Latin jazz mode, sounding a lot like some of the best work on Atlantic at the time by Mongo Santamaria, Hubert Laws, and others. Henderson's trombone is still a key solo instrument, but the album also features some incredible sax work from Willie Gresham – a player we know little about, but who makes the album cook in the same fantastic way that Hubert Laws and Sonny Fortune did for Mongo's best work of the 60s! The grooves are very right-on, with plenty of excellent percussion work – and titles include the originals "Love-Out", "Behold The Day", and "Soul Sound System", plus some groovy covers, like "All You Need is Love", "What The World Needs Now Is Love", and "Are You Sure?" – all done with a great Latiny groove! New Millie JacksonGet It Outcha System ... LP
Spring, 1978. Used .... Out Of Stock
A key album in the evolution of the Millie Jackson sound and style – as she leaves behind the weepy soul of earlier albums, and moves into the fierce, proud-stepping mode that would define the "bad girl" of later, raunchier years! In case you can't figure out where Millie's going with her bag, the title is emphasized by a photo of a toilet seat on the back cover – and Millie literally takes the sh*t out on the record – in a series of tunes that have a real bad-rapping approach. Production is by longtime associate Brad Shapiro, but the overall sound is sweetened nicely by David Van De Pitte – who adds in full strings and voices to emphasize the attitude behind the songs. Titles include "Go Out & Get Some", "Put Something Down On It", "He Wants To Hear The Words", "Here You Come Again", and a great version of Latimore's "Keep The Home Fire Burnin", complete with an additional rap on the subject, entitle "Logs & Thangs". Monumental (UK), 2007. Used .... $3.99
Warm, percolating modern grooves from Brotherly – the duo of producer Robin Mullarkey and vocalist Anna Stubbs – a blend of broken beats and effervescent tunefulness! Brotherly has a pretty rich and textural sound, with beats, bass, synths, keys and strings weaving into a moody whole – and Robin's vocals float over it all quite sweetly. Touches of club jazz, bossa, and splintering post drum & bass abound! New FelaBest Of The Black President 2 (deluxe edition with bonus DVD) ... CD
Knitting Factory, 1970s. New Copy CD & DVD .... $22.99 24.98
Hard to go wrong with a set like this – because in our opinion, just about every track recorded by Fela is a "best" – which makes the collection a massive batch of goodness all the way through! Every track here is presented in its original extended version – a dozen massive slices of Afro Funk, which packaged together equal the equivalent of at least 5 or 6 separate albums by Fela – another factor that makes the collection a great one! The 2CD set is filled with gems that helped redefine the sound of funk, soul, and world music back in the 70s – titles that include "Monkey Banana", "Everything Scatter", "Expensive Sh*t", "Trouble Sleep Yanga Wake Am", "Underground System (part 2)", "Sorry Tears & Blood", "Colonial Mentality", "Yellow Fever", "He Miss Road", "Black Man's Cry", "Mr Follow Follow", and "Na Poi". Roberta FlackOasis (Japanese paper sleeve edition) ... CD
Atlantic (Japan), 1988. New Copy .... $29.99
Roberta Flack sounding freshly inspired in the late 80s – her first new album in years – and it's a really strong one! The first thing that jumps out at us is how wonderful her voice continues to be –she's recognizable from the first syllable, and it's right it home with a contemporary sound – though classical soul-inclined – thanks to smart production and arrangements by Marcus Miller, Jerry Hey and Michael Omartian. There's a little bit of a tropical vibe in couple places – hence the title – especially the opening and closing tunes "Oasis" and "(His Name) Brazil" – and other cuts include the nice and hooky Ashford & Simpson tune "Uh-Uh-Ooh Look Out (Here It Comes)", plus "All Caught Up In Love", "Shock To My System", "You Who Brought Me Love", "And So It Goes", "Something Magic". Columbia, 1970s/1980s. New Copy 31 CDs .... $209.99 249.98
A really really amazing little set – and a package that goes way beyond most other complete album collections on the market! First off, this one is REALLY complete – as it not only features all of Herbie Hancock's Columbia albums from the US, but also his rare Japanese-only records, and key sessions with other artists like the VSOP group, singer Kimiko Kasai, and pianist Chick Corea – all wrapped up in a totally cool box that features a 200 page book, and tiny LP sleeve versions of each individual album! There's a number of albums never issued in the US, and a few others are making their US debut on CD too – mixed here with key classics, and some others that haven't been in print for years. Herbie's sense of vision and genius hold strong throughout – from electric to acoustic to electric and more acoustic modes recorded over a 16 year span between 1972 and 1988. Albums include Sextant, Head Hunters, Dedication, Thrust, Death Wish, Flood, Man-Child, Secrets, VSOP, Herbie Hancock Trio, VSOP The Quintet, VSOP Tempest In The Colosseum, An Evening With Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea, Sunlight, Feets Don't Fail Me Now, Directstep, Live Under The Stars, Five Stars, Butterfly (with Kimiko Kasai), Monster, Mr Hands, Magic Windows, Herbie Hancock Trio with Ron Carter & Tony Williams, Quartet, Lite Me Up, Future Shock, Sound System, Village Life (with Foday Musa Suso), Round Midnight (soundtrack), and Perfect Machine. A stunner of a set – even if you already own some of the records inside! CD

Flip's style here is really getting honed down – a mix of his swinging bop approach from earlier sides, with touches of harder-wailing tenor work, creeping in through 50s tenor influences. VPI 16.5Amazing Record Cleaning Machine! (115 Volt Version) ... Misc
VPI, 2004. New Copy .... $649.99 699.99
Ever wonder how we get our records so clean at Dusty Groove? Well, it's because we've been using this amazing machine for years, and we'll swear by it always as the best way to clean up those old albums you find while diggin' through the crates. The long-tested VPI system is in place with record dealers, collectors, and audiophiles everywhere – and it's even used by the Smithsonian Institute for the albums they have in their archive! The process is simple, but extremely effective: the record is bathed in a special fluid, scrubbed by a special brush to loosen all dirt and debris, and then the whole thing's vacuumed up to remove the fluid dirt and all! We know the machine's a bit pricey, and we balked a bit when we bought our first one. Now, though, we own 3 of them, and we think every penny was very well spent. We can't recommend the machine highly enough, and if you ever need a demonstration, just look at one of the very clean records you've bought from us! (The shipping price will be a bit more than usual, and we'll give you a quote when you order, but at least you won't have to pay sales tax on the whole thing.) Misc
(Please Note: unlike other items we carry, this one is not actually in stock. We need to special order it for you, but we usually get them in a month.)

VariousBambara Mystic Soul – The Raw Sound Of Burkina Faso 1974 to 1979 ... CD
Analog Africa (Germany), Mid 70s. New Copy .... $22.99
Raw sound, indeed – and possibly one of the most hard-hitting compilations so far from the Analog Africa label! There's a quality here that's mighty fresh, and which shows us that there's still plenty of African nuggets to find, if you know where to dig! Much of the music has a dark, moody quality that's really striking – still the grooves you'd expect, but an exotic undercurrent that's almost like Ethiopian music – although very much it's own vibe too! The mix is really wonderful, and makes these tracks from Burkina Faso a rich musical discovery – one that's very thoughtfully put together by the Analog Africa label, with their usual strong attention to sound and detailed notes – not to mention a very handsome package. Titles include " Kabendo" by Konde Mangue, "Sie Koumgolo" by Coulibaly Tidini, "Rog Mik Africa" by Orchestre CVD, "Kodjougou" by Abdoulaye Ciess, "Dambakale" by Compaore Issouf, "Tink Tank" by Afro Soul System, "Love Music & Dance" by Mamo Lagbema, and "Johnny" by Amadou Ballake Et Super Volta. Strut (UK), 1980s. New Copy 2 CDs .... $14.99 16.99
Sublime sounds from the 80s underground – electronic gems that paved the way for pop work of the future, but which still stay pretty darn dark overall! The cuts here start with the early European electric modes of the post-punk years, and spin out through the growing wave of cool synthy cuts that would come to be known as "imports" on this side of the Atlantic – the kind of music that went onto influence generations of house and techno producers to come! Yet here, things are still pretty darn spare, and still very basic – those great early moments when folks found a way to compress all the experiments of the previous decade into some tighter little tunes – often with a bombastic quality that made them work on the dancefloor – even though the kind of dancefloor that usually worked best was filled with lots of dark curtains and black lights! Pre-electro before it got cliched, pre-goth before that term even came into being, and tremendous stuff that still holds up wonderfully over the years – a set of tracks that includes "Unit" by Logic System, "Der Amboss (inst)" by Visage, "Body 2 Body" by Front 242, "Riot Squad" by Vice Versa, "Walking Backwards" by Mile High Club, "Over The Shoulder (12" version)" by Ministry, "Platonic" by Harumi Hosono, "Necrosis En La Poya" by Esplendor Geometrico, "Twilight Zone (Trevor Jackon edit)" by Rusty Egan, and "Dead Lines (400 Blows rmx)" by Skinny Puppy. Schema (Italy), 1960s/1970s. New Copy 2LP .... $22.99
Sublime bossa groovers from Italy! The first volume of this series was one of our favorite compilations that year it was released – and this second volume is equally as great! Schema groover Gerardo Frisina serves up a hand-picked batch of 16 tunes, mostly classic numbers from the late 60s and early 70s, pulled from the ranks of Italian soundtrack, jazz, and easy listening albums – all with a flair for making the bossa even groovier than it already is! Electric keyboards abound – and the rhythms run from dreamy to driving to slightly funky, always at the right pace for the material, and always making the set dance with delight! Titles include "Incontro All'Aereoporto" by Piero Piccioni, "Allora, Il Treno" by Bruno Nicolai & Edda Dell'Orso, "Avances" by Gerardo Frisina, "Wind" by Red Redford Sound System One, "Bossalonga" by Mustang, "Unreality Landscape" by Angel Pocho Gatti, "Susan Theme" by Daniele Patucchi, "Per Lei" by Stefano Torossi, and "Colpa Tua" by Giancarlo Gazzani. VariousNRK Sessions – Soul, Afro-Jazz & Latin From The Club 7 Scene ... CD
Plastic Strip Press (Norway), Late 60s/Early 70s. New Copy .... $16.99
Some of the funkiest grooves we've ever heard from the European scene – all tracks from the late 60s and early 70s, recorded as part of the legendary Club 7 in Oslo! Although of Norwegian origin, most of these numbers lean heavily towards American funky styles of soul and jazz at the end of the 60s – grooves that are loose and free, and which often feature some surprisingly great English language vocals – some sung by American soulster Earl Wilson, who was part of the scene at the time, and a key influence on most of the grooves here. The package is a real discovery for our ears – and given that most of these numbers were recorded by the Norwegian broadcasting system for radio play, they weren't really issued publicly at the time – making this collection almost a "sound library soul" set! Titles include "Whole Lotta Love", "Hot Pants", "Come On Children", "Them Changes", and "Moment Of Truth" by The Band No Name; "Groovin" by Karin Krog & Fred Noddelund, "Lite Lite" and "Tamma Song" by Tamma, "Night IN Barcelona" and "Oslo Late July" by Kjellerrock Jazzbandet, "California Soul" and "Don't Let Me Lose This Dream" by Geir Wentzel's Orkester, and "Otinku" by Modern Sound Quintet. New Brian EnoDiscreet Music ... LP
Obscure, 1975. Very Good+ .... Just Sold Out!
A modern minimalist watershed and though a bit academic, still pretty darn beautiful! This early instrumental release was the first time that Eno really explored his farther-reaching ideas on record. The set features 2 pieces: "Discreet Music", a long work that relies on a simple system of delay and recall, with slight variations occurring over the space of time, due to slight occasional interference from the composer; and "Three Variations On The Cannon In D Major By Johann Pachelbel", which works along similar lines, taking this very familiar classical theme, and breaking it down into simple components, which are then interwoven and played in repetition, creating a strange little bit of romantic minimalism. New Cut ChemistAudience's Listening ... CD
Warner, 2006. Used .... Out Of Stock
Cut Chemist brings his deep digging style out of the world of legendary mix sets and behind-the-scenes hip hop wizardry – finally out front with (can you believe this?) his first ever solo album! Sadly, you have to worry when a great hip hop DJ/producer gets a major label solo album in this sad day and age of expensive sample clearance, as they often feel a little bit neutered by the system. Never fear in this case. Chem builds his signature eclectic craft around samples – some fairly obvious and some quite surprising – with occasional live instrumentation and a few appearances by topshelf underground MCs. The sounds are far too diverse to nail in a sentence or two, but they run from a catchy hip hop thump, to some Brazil-sampling groovers, to funky avant garde bits. Too many newer beatmakers opt for an obtuse, laptop-derived, barely musical approach. All the more reason to cherish Cut Chemist! Tracks include "Motivational Speaker", "(My 1st) Big Break", "The Lift", "The Garden", "Spat", "What's The Attitude" feat Hymnal, "Metrorail Thru Space", "Storm" feat Edan & Mr Lif, "2266 Cambridge" feat Thes One, "Spoon", "A Peak In Time" and "The Audience Is Speaking Theme Song". Ras G may be back on the planet, but the sound here is still very much in keeping with the excellent mode on his Ghetto Sci Fi set – a really weird and wonderful blend of cosmic influences from the heyday of spiritual jazz, including lots of Sun Ra-inspired touches, mixed with some very unusual beats and electronics! There's a sense of analogue electricity that crackles through the set, and really sets an edge right from the start – potent and powerful right at the start, then laying back a bit for awhile as things get somewhat warmer – but still stepping in at all the right points to shock the system! The whole thing is really a great move forward in the legacy of sci-fi sounds from the jazz and funk world – a definite heady part of the Sun Ra Legacy too. Do Right (Canada), Late 60s/1970s. New Copy .... Out Of Stock
A second fantastic dip into the jazz archives of the Canadian Broadcasting System – home to a heck of a lot more great music than you might think! Since Canada never had great labels like Blue Note or Prestige back in the day, many of the country's best jazz players often recorded for broadcast – cutting some incredible work that was often as good as most of the US jazz of the same period, but which never got the same sort of mainstream exposure. But exposed or not, the music is totally great – and often in modal or groove-heavy styles here – no surprise, given that the package was put together by the folks at Do Right Records, easily one of the greatest sources for modern soulful records from Canada! The package gives long overdue respect to these key jazz gems, and is filled with tons of great moments that maybe even go past the strength of volume one! Felix Kubin looks a lot like an alien on the cover of this set – and sounds a fair bit like a space visitor in the music as well! The work's got this very cool blend of electronics and playful rhythms – served up in a style that really takes us back to some of our favorite German work of the post-punk years – particularly the music of Der Plan and Pyrolator, both of whom would be a great comparison to Kubin's work! The tunes are catchy and playful, but also have this undercurrent of darkness too – and loads of analogue elements that bristle and crackle in this very cool way – like you've tapped into some spaceship out in the ether, and are able to unload all the grooves going on in their soundsystem. Amazing grooves from a legendary pair of labels – the ultra-funky Perception and Today Records, home of some killer sounds from the New York scene at the start of the 70s! The labels had a great ear for up-and-coming soul – especially with some of the younger groups rising up at the time – and they also used their magic to refresh the sounds of some older artists, particularly jazz musicians, who took on an ultra-funky approach at Perception – one that's made their work for the label some of the most in-demand over the years! The sly Island grooves are stripped down to their bare essentials, then given a tasteful bit of dubby gloss at the hands of Sylvan Morris, for a massive collection that'll rule your stereo like Studio One rocked the sound systems back in the day. 17 tracks in all, wrapped in a nice package that includes interviews with Morris and Dodd, and fully annotated as to which numbers the rhythms were originally cut as the backing for. Includes "Bionic Dub", "Sky Rhythm", 'Taurus Dub 2", "Hooligan", "Dub Rock", "Hi Fashion Dub", In Cold Blood Version" and "Feel The Dub". CD

Thrill Jockey, 1994. New Copy 2LP (reissue).... Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of moodier and more atmospheric efforts from Markus Popp's creatively fruitful mid 90s period! On Systemisch, Oval is essentially a trio, featuring Popp, Frank Metzger and Sebastian Oschatz – and it marks a pretty big step forward for 90s electronic experimentalism. There's a bit of a minimalist vibe, with a sound being introduced and then revolving, and evolving, in subtle ways that are hypnotic all the way. Titles include "Textuell", "Aero Deck", "The Politics Of Digital Audio", "Schoner Wissen", "Mediaton", "Oval Office", "Gabba Nation", "Post Post" and more LP, Vinyl record album

New Augustus PabloKing Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown – Deluxe Edition ... CD
Shanachie, 1975. Used .... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Truly one of the most essential reggae albums of all time, and without a doubt one of our top dub albums. While we may be known for our hyperbolic comments on LPs here at Dusty, this album is very much deserving of the praise, and if you don't own it, you need to. Basically a collection of dubs of rhythms for some of Pablo's most popular productions as vocal cuts on 45s that had rocked the sound systems, this set features a mighty rockers rhythm team and mixing courtesy Errol Thompson and King Tubby. All solid tracks. Includes "Keep On Dubbing", "Stop Them Jah", "Young Generation Dub", "Each One Dub", "555 Dub Street", "Braces Tower Dub", "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown", "Corner Crew Dub", "Say So", "Skanking Dub" "Satta Dub" and "Frozen Dub", plus 4 bonus tracks: "Black Gunn", "I Ruthland Close", "1-2-3 Version" and "Silent Satta" CD

Medical, Early 80s. New Copy .... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A killer collection of early 80s electronic numbers – most of them in a post-punk sort of style, but often with a bit of a dancefloor groove as well! Most of these cuts were issued only on rare 7" singles – and are brought together here by the wonderful talents of Medical Records – a label we've really come to trust for obscure 80s electronica! The work here lies in an underground far below the best early material of artists like Cabaret Voltaire or Human League – and the package brings together cuts from both sides of the Atlantic, all material we'd never have heard otherwise (and we actually used to buy this sort of stuff, back in the day!) Titles include "The Future Now" by Psychic Youth, "Let's Get Together" by Shazam, "Kwai Systeme" by Arto, "Le Chorale" by The Electronic Circus, "Betty Boop" by Arto, "Maske" by Berliner Strasse, and "Duty Calls" by Aaah. New Stuart Baker & Steve BarrowReggae 45 Soundsystem – The Label Art Of Reggae Singles (paperback) ... Book
Soul Jazz (UK), 2012. New Copy Book .... Out Of Stock
The most massive book of record art we've ever stocked – and a groundbreaking look at the art of reggae 45s, put together by the folks at Soul Jazz Records! Albums are usually featured in a book like this, but the authors do a great job of illustrating the diversity of 45 labels on the Jamaican scene – the wealth of designs and colors that make collecting reggae 45s a past time that's almost as pleasing from a visual perspective as it is from an audio one! Plus, given the obscurity of most of these records, the book's even more valuable – a much-needed record of these small pressings that never got much distribution – laid out here in beautiful full color images. The book is super-heavy, with a cool cover that's between a hardcover and soft cover – and almost 500 pages of images throughout! Book

New Stuart Baker & Steve BarrowReggae Soundsystem – Original Reggae Album Cover Art (hardcover) ... Book
Soul Jazz (UK), 2012. New Copy Book .... Out Of Stock
Amazing images galore – some classic covers from the Jamaican scene of the 60s and 70s, and lots more obscure images too – all presented in very vivid color, with a lot more clarity than any of the beat up original copies we have in our collection! The book really does full justice to the visual side of the reggae scene – and brings together a huge amount of covers we've never seen before, with others that look way more vibrant here than on a tiny CD reissue – presented in this record-shaped book that reminds us why albums always look so great in the racks! Most images are overflowing with color – really beautiful reproductions – and the oversized book is hardcover, and almost 240 pages overall. Book

New VariousFunk Globo – The Sound Of Neo Baile ... LP
Mr Bongo (UK), 2013. New Copy .... Out Of Stock
Contempoary Brazilian grooves compiled by the folks at Funk Globo – blistering batch of beats and basslines – all served up with a very intense sound! The music here isn't the trendy, intellectual style coming from Brazil in recent years – but instead the sort that plays big at house parties, underground clubs, and even street festivals where the booming beats are a perfect match for a well-crafted soundsystem! In fact, the sound here is so heavy, you might want to turn down the bass a bit on your stereo before playback – lest you blast the dishes off your shelves in the kitchen. Titles include "Vai Danada" by Guto De Almeida, "Saca Me Desse Banze" by Gato Preto, "Cicadas' Dance" by Chuck Upbeat, "Gostoso" by Ophex, and "Xao Trap" by DJ Comrade. LP, Vinyl record album
