✨✧ Beatles/George MartinYellow Submarine (longbox version) ... CD
Apple/Parlophone, 1968. Used ... Out Of Stock
Sure it's a soundtrack, and sure it's got a number of songs that are just instrumentals from the film – but the record also features some excellent late Beatles tracks that can only be found here – including the killer tracks "Hey Bulldog" (almost a funky nugget), "Only A Northern Song", and "All Together Now". Also includes "Yellow Submarine" (natch) – plus "It's All Too Much" and "All You Need Is Love" – and side two features a number of groovy instrumentals from George Martin – including "Pepperland", "Sea Of Holes", "March Of The Meanies", and "Pepperland Laid Waste". ✨✧ Giovanni FuscoIl Sesso Degli Angeli ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1968. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A killer 60s soundtrack from Giovanni Fusco, but one that has some great help that really sends the whole thing over the top in a great way – arrangements from Gianfranco Reverberi, and some vocals at points from I Cantori Moderni! Reverberi would later rise up in the world of prog, and here he brings in some nice beat/rock elements to the mix – fuzzy guitar, electric bass, and other elements that blend in nicely with the fuller orchestrations on the set – all at a level that offers just a hint of the psychedelic vibe that's referenced on the cover! Titles include the great "Pink Purple Yellow & Red" in both vocal and instrumental versions, performed by The Sorrows – plus lots of other instrumentals from the film! CD

✨✧ VariousNorthwest Passage – Classic Western Scores From MGM Vol 2 – 1940 to 1974 (3CD set) ... CD
MGM/Film Score Monthly, 1940/1953/1955/1961/1974. Used 3 CDs ... Out Of Stock
A totally excellent collection of rare western soundtracks from MGM – vintage material that we've never seen on CD before, packaged together in a beautiful limited set! The style here is a bit more dramatic than the western scores you might know from the spaghetti generation – but there's also some great echoes of those modes too – kind of the early inklings of styles that were picked up later by Italian composers, but handled here mostly with fuller American orchestrations. The package really lives up to the usual Film Score standards – great sound and supporting materials, and lots of movie tracks that never would have been on any LP release. 3CDs – with material from Northwest Passage (1940) by Herbert Stothart, Many Rivers To Cross (1955) by Cyril J Mockridge, Thunder Of Drums (1961) by Harry Sukman, and The Godchild (1974) by David Shire. Also features the song "Yellow Stripes" from Escape From Fort Brave (1953). CD
(Out of print and sealed. Limited pressing of 2000 copies.)
