Whistling Jack SmithI Was Kaiser Bill's Batman ... LP
Deram, Mid 60s. Very Good+ ... $5.99
Here's a guy with a great gimmick – whistling! Jack Smith was a youngster, but he could blow with the best of them – whistling his way through the massive international pop hit "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman" – a tune that's as groovy as it sounds, with a crashing goofy approach that's really really great! Smith wets his whistle on 11 other tracks on this one and only album – mixing in a bunch of cool arrangements from Ivor Raymonde that have a nice 60s Brit feel. Titles include "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman", "Song Of The Steppes", "Happy Wanderer", "Union Jack", and "Early One Morning". (Rock, Now Sound) LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono pressing. Cover has a cutout hole and light wear.)

✨✧ Dick Schory's Percussion EnsembleStereo Action Goes Broadway ... LP
RCA, 1961. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Another masterpiece of RCA's Stereo Action series – billed on the front cover as "The Sound Your Eyes Can Follow"! Schory certainly gets in the spirit of the session – using a variety of percussion instrumentation to bounce between the right and left channels, coming up with a tweeter-popping batch of tunes that transform typical Broadway numbers into whimsical little instrumentals! Tracks include "El Sombrero", "I Got Rhythm", "Camelot", "Slaughter On Tenth Avenue", "Bali Hai", "Heat Wave",a nd "Show Me". LP, Vinyl record album
(Stereo pressing with deep groove, 1s stampers! Includes the heavy inner sleeve. Die-cut cover has some splitting on the top & bottom seams.)

✨✧ Gabor SzaboMore Sorcery ... LP
Impulse, 1967. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A great record that's sort of a follow-up to Gabor's excellent Sorcerer LP – and like that one, features long tracks that have a spiralling modal feel that's much more serious, much more grooving, and a lot less campish than some of his other albums of the time. The album features a two-guitar lineup that mixes rhythm and melody – perfect for the tunes on the set, like "Los Matadoros", "Spellbinder", "Comin Back", and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". (Jazz, Now Sound) LP, Vinyl record album
